So, if I want to get right to it today (which I do)…THIS. This first look is my new go-to. Even though I can’t play most sports (save a little tennis here and there) to save my life, I’m a sporty gal when it comes to fashion. I want all the sneakers and all the rad graphic tees and sweatshirts, and all the tech fabrics. I like to mix them up with pieces pulled from other styles — it is my jam. I recently got a new shoe organizer and um, let’s just say the white sneaker obsession is a little out of control.
So it was no surprise that I went right to the amazing sporty pieces when I recently browsed Gap’s website. Soft tech leggings, rad jackets, amazingly cozy hoodies…you had me at them all. I actually mixed it up today too, with one black and neutral look (no surprise there) and one colorful workout look…I know! It must be all the Vitamin D I’m getting right now. Anyhoo, I’m still wearing the hoodie as I write this and probably won’t take it off until June, so without further ado from me, let’s check it out.

Gap Athleisure For Out & About
Uh, hello new transitional weather outfit. I legit love this whole look. This cute parka is the cool-weather, water-resistant jacket I’ve needed forever. The spring rain is usually light here, and it’s also still cool enough some days that I need a little heavier layer than a typical rain jacket. This guy is perf. And the camo print is so subtle and wearable. Layer this super cozy oversized hoodie underneath and gah, love it all. The inner drawstring waist adds a little definition for a flattering yet comfy combo on my 5’4″ self.
As for the leggings? Well, I’m so picky after having tried on a bazillion and a half leggings, and these are so good. They have a comfy ribbed waist that stays up and doesn’t roll. The side ribbing also makes them feel flattering and secure. And they have a nice weight to them that isn’t too thick, isn’t too thin. They’re also super soft. AND and…they come in some gorg colors for spring, too!

When I saw this heathered, color-blocked legging and matching top I knew I must have it. I went with the navy color combo, but the gray & pastels are gorg, too! These are a cotton blend and so soft. They also stay up well. The color blocking is beyond cute for something different from your typical solid legging. A great workout set for spring!
I’ll be doing all my barre workouts from home in this outfit since I’ve totally embraced the fact that my 43-year-old self wants “to wear a cropped top, who cares what it looks like, I am hot when I workout and I’m going to rock it.” Plus, the tanks I typically wore on top would, never-fail, always come unknotted mid-downward dog. I don’t know if my knotting skills are just crap or what, but now I don’t worry about it! On with the squats!
Fit notes…I’m 5’4″ with a shorter torso but not quite petite-length legs in most pants, so if you’re taller or have a longer torso, the top will hit a little differently on you and the leggings will be a true 7/8 cropped length. Good news though, these do come in both Petite & Tall lengths! The regular sizes are offered in XS-XXL, Tall & Petite in S-XL.

Definitely check out more of the gorgeous springy colors Gap has right now across the board (and take advantage of this Friends & Family sale while it’s going on!). And while I adore my black gear, I was so tempted to get the first leggings in this beautiful blue! I may need to since they’re on sale! Gah, or that green. LOVE. The pj’s I’ve linked below are my FAVORITES of that style. So soft and they don’t gape at the bust. I have two pairs. Love.
Solidarity to anyone also growing out a short haircut right now. Heh. The struggle is real. Next time, stay tuned for the tiny ponytail. Haha.

Cute stuff! I’m also loving Gap Fit right now – I recently bought the pointelle ruched side tank and highly recommend it for a cropped but not stomach showing option (not quite there yet but I’m aspiring to be!). I ended up buying it in 3 colors!
Ooh sounds cute I’ll have to check it out! Thanks, Courtney!
