I predict…we will continue to be mostly home for some time to come. I predict…there are ways to be more comfy, warmer and have more fun there. AND, I predict, that all good things for our homes will go on sale at some point this month leading up to Black Friday!
There are some things, we need and/or wish for our homes, that come at a certain price tag. Many of them go on sale not so often, and Black Friday is one of those select times. This year is special, and we have it on good authority, that many of those sales will also begin early in November. So let’s just get to it?
Here are the things I expect to be carting between now and right through after I’ve eaten all the Thanksgiving leftovers for breakfast the next day. Big Hint: cuddles, snow days, sheets and towels. Otherwise, what’s on sale for Black Friday will be very specific, (mostly large items like sofas, mattresses) and small things like all the holiday gifts (for those — start here.) Shana’s 2020 Black Friday predictions are here. For now, put a Pin on these.

Warm Up & Cuddle
1. Favorite Fire Pit At Amazon
Can we say it again? Let’s say it together: Solo Stove. It makes a great gift. It travels well, even if that’s just to a neighbor’s back yard. It can go camping, road tripping, to all the Airbnbs, it can go everywhere, easily. It is efficient, gets hot quick, in a contained unit, and it recirculates, so makes less smoke. It’s an amazing addition to your own patio or yard, a great gift for a deserving friend or family member, and is a sign of the times, in more ways than one.
2. Cotton Napper – Cuddle Knit + WEIGHTED!!!
The highest rated of all the weighted blankets. They feel like a hug. They are therapeutic. And who doesn’t need that right now? Best gift ever, best gift this year at least.
3. Faux Fur Forever At Pottery Barn
People are jealous, always, of our pile of faux fur blankets. Are you chilly on my patio? I offer you a faux fur. Movie time cuddles? Faux fur. Let’s read a book? Faux fur. And on those rare occasions, where I cuddle all by my own self with a cup of coffee, yup: faux fur. Great gift. Especially in multiples. Mix and match for more fun.
4. Pendleton + Faux Fur
This IS THE ONE…if you are only gifting someone one gift, especially if it is me, or any human with similar sensibility, THIS is THE gift. Faux fur on one side, Pendleton classic on the other. Amazing.
Snow Days At Home
5. Log Tote
Why do we need a log tote other than that it’s cute? For the fire pit, the other fire pit, the fireplace, and all the other places we burn wood. If this isn’t the year of light it up, I’m not sure when is.
6. L.L. Bean House-To-Street Mocs
Again, crazy but true, I don’t normally believe in these. But again, crazy but true: #2020. House shoes are a thing, let’s just give in to it. I don’t take this warm feet thing nearly as seriously as some of our contributors and readers — but I’m starting here. Baby steps…
7. Sledding Old School
My maternal grandfather actually worked in the Flexible Flyer factory. True story. Those seem very dangerous to me. I know we (those of us born before a certain year) lived through them, but still, why risk it? These seem nostalgic, yet gentler.
8. Sledding New School
By “new” I mean within the past 40+ years because I remember having something similar, and it was just the most amazing bouncy ride down a snowy slope! I love sharing fun with my kids that I remember from my own childhood! Now we just need to wish for snow!
Sheets For Better Sleep
9. Sustainable Linen from Black-Owned Business Linoto
I love their sheets so much, I also ordered myself a pair of their boxer shorts! They come at a price tag, but are WORTH it.
10. Parachute Home Sheets – TME TEAM FAVORITES!!!
OMG. In random conversation with Shana, I mentioned having just gifted someone a set of Parachute Sheets. She looked at me and said, you know, they go on sale Black Friday. I tilted my head, bit my sarcastic tongue, and said in my own mind only, “We sleep together on Parachute Sheets, I forget the rest.” (Shana’s favorite Walt Whitman quote is, “We were together, I forget the rest.”). Rest better, on Parachute, we all do it. xoxo
11. Boll & Branch Sheets
While I’ve yet to try these myself, they get A-mazing reviews. Has anyone tried them yet? Anyone who has also tried Parachute?
12. The 5-Star Amazon Favorites
My friend Margo’s recommendation. She has them on all her beds, and they get crazy-high Amazon 5 star reviews, like 150,000+. They…are inexpensive to start, even at full price, but hey, a sale is a sale and our fingers are crossed that they make it to the sale list Black Friday too!
Stock Up On Our Favorite Fresh Towels
13. Turkish Towels
I use mine as summertime and travel pool and beach towels and wraps, and pretty much have a full set of all the colors and all the stripes! A bunch in a basket is also a favorite gift of mine to give! And it seems to me that more and more people I know are trading out their traditional bath towels for these as well. They are soft, dry quick, and are super cute on the hang.
14. Nordstrom Hydro Cotton Towel Bundle
Very well-priced for a big bundle of big towels, and from Nordstrom, while you might just happen to be there sale shopping anyway?
15. Parachute Home Towels
Another TME Team Favorite, for good reason. Built to last, and super-thick and soft. They come at a price, but are absolutely a luxury, and yes, Black Friday will be one of the only two times this year they go on sale! So stock-up while they are 20% off!
16. Lands’ End Supima Cotton Towels
These are the towels my house has been well-stocked with for more than a decade. Every now and then I’ll try something more expensive, like Parachute, or less expensive, but in the end, I’m still happy with these and they last! These I know for sure, will absolutely go on sale for Black Friday, but most likely will before then.
That’s it for predictions on how we’ll stay comfy, cuddle, and have fun at home from the girl who always hits on 16 in Black Jack, but has a decent track record of that going well;) Pin these now, and we’ll get to all the details and other fun as the time for turkey leftovers and sale shopping comes.

PSS: This one is for the Pinners…
I tried the Mellani Amazon sheets and they are thin, but pretty soft and nice for only around $35. I like them a lot.
Kari-$35 is a pretty good deal for a set of sheets! Thank you for sharing the feedback! xo A
