A huge thank you to Bloomingdale’s & ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.
Um, hi. We’re here already. September. I feel the need to…apologize? If you, like I, were just hoping that the first few weeks of September would just…pass by…unnoticed…thereby giving us a few extra weeks of summer? And then here I am, ruining that mirage.
But I have a good reason for getting a jump on Labor Day Sales, abrupt as this may feel. Bloomingdale’s reached out, asking if we’d take a peek at their Labor Day Sale lineup (happening now through 9/7), and, as I perused, I found myself getting excited.
11 Useful (& Chic) Buys At Bloomingdale’s Labor Day Long Weekend Sale
Not only does Bloomingdale’s have some of the most seriously chic workout gear on sale, but they have several items that I’d categorize as problem solvers. White jeans that aren’t overly preppy? On sale. Cooking at home and need a pan overhaul? On sale (and it’s my fav brand, too). Pants that feel like joggers (but look upscale)? Yup — on sale. Best of all, some of these pieces can be had with an extra 50% off (the products will be labeled as such when you click through).
If there’s one thing that working-and-schooling-from-home has taught me, it’s that cooking from home — if I’m not careful — can take up most of the day. So Mike and I both swear by this Nespresso coffee maker. Not only does it make seriously good coffee (even the decaf), but it’s easy to use (my kids can make it for me), and takes only a few seconds. I LOVE the frothy coffee that results from this Vertuo line. Also, the coffee pods are recyclable (you can simply mail them back in a free mailer from Nespresso) and coffee reorders are often delivered within 48 hours.
All-Clad is our longtime favorite cookwear. It heats evenly and lasts forever. It’s not non-stick (which is a good thing, I actually hate the chemicals often used to make a non-stick pan), but the 18/10 stainless steel does offer some stick resistance. That said, if you need to develop a crust on something, this is still your pan. The handles are stainless steel, also, so this pan can be used both stovetop or in the over (up to 500 degrees). We seriously use ours for everything. Take an additional 20% off with code COOKWEAR.
Black often looks too heavy in the summer months…especially on those 90 degree days we’ve been having well into September. I LOVE this tote for bridging the gap between summer and fall. Perfect for trips to the farmer’s market or grocery stores. And, quite frankly, the black is substantial enough that it’ll make this canvas bag look appropriate even when the weather cools. This one is an extra 50% off (discount appears in cart).
Again, this is summer black, done to perfection. I love the combo of the studs and jute, and these would be so cute with the above canvas bag. This one is also an extra 50% off (discount appears in cart).
Rag & Bone makes the best tees. They only look basic…when worn, they manage to look better than any other tees in your closet. This is the kind of tee you really will wear every darn day.
I have had my eye on this vintage-inspired suitcase for years!! The reviews — all over the web — are always off the charts, and I can’t get enough of the steam trunk vibe. I do realize that many of us aren’t traveling anytime soon, but this price is too good to gloss over and when this pandemic lifts…WE’LL BE READY.
I know everyone loves (with the passion of ten thousand suns) their black faux-leather leggings, but I am over them. (Nobody else at TME agrees with me though, so feel free to ignore my dramatics. And here — there are a ton of cute ones.). That said, I am ALL ABOUT these [BlankNYC] faux-leather joggers in tan. These are my new faux-leather leggings. They’re an extra 50% off, too (discount appears in cart).
I’m really into old-school, basic jeans right now. But comfortable ones. Jeans that look like you’ve spent the last few years breaking them in, jeans that aren’t aggressively one trend. And while I realize that rigid jeans can eventually be broken in…I also know that these 7’s will start out that way. So. There’s that.
I’m so picky when it comes to white jeans…I want something that’s not just the basic white skinny jean (they can skew too preppy), I want something not too tight, something fresh. These tick all of the boxes. (And, of course, are almost sold out. GRRR. But I’m also eyeing up this similar pair — sustainable, too.) Pair with a graphic tee and clogs, or a white tank and nude sandals.)
What problem is this one solving? Well…it’s solving the problem of drooling over a similar bag — for years!! — that I cannot afford. This one? Is one sale for $50 (plus an extra 50% off of that price). BAM! (ps. It’s exclusive to Bloomingdale’s, too.)
Oh help. I have a few — a verrrry small few — pairs of ‘wow’ shoes I splurged on over the years, and they are the same pairs to survive every closet clean-out. It’s like…if the shoe is fabulous enough, they’re timeless. Oddly enough? They’re all mostly Chloe (or See by Chloe) shoes. This, I think, is one of those ‘wow’ pairs. The pattern is interesting, but not one that’s easily pinned down (some sort of generic animal print? snake print?) and the heel is chunky and walkable. There’s also this black See By Chloe sandal (with just the right amount of studs) that I’m also seriously considering.
