Friends. Lately, I’m all about keeping it simple. When it comes to clothes, something beautiful-yet-cozy can be so incredibly helpful right now (like a bright spot in my day) as can an easy capsule wardrobe where you don’t have to think about it too much.
Another helpful thing? Especially for those of us who really need some alone time to thrive? A night away. I didn’t realize how much I needed this for my mental health until I had to do it. Not too long ago, I made plans to join my friend and photographer Posy at the Oregon Coast (for some of that said alone time) and it was…amazing.
A Comfy Capsule Wardrobe From Verishop
We’ve been covering Verishop on the blog for a while now, and some pieces caught my eye that would make for a perfect fall capsule wardrobe to take on a little getaway like this one (and Verishop is currently having a 20% off sitewide sale with code FALLSALE…even better!). So when the stars aligned and my trip to the Coast became the perfect opportunity to try these new pieces? Well, twist my arm…a night away by myself was the result.
There’s nothing easier than not having to think about putting an outfit together. This became extra apparent to me when I was traveling for a night (it’s like I’ve forgotten how, y’all) and had everything I could need in this little collection. Even I don’t like to have to think about it when I’m away from home and away from the too-many options in my closet. I so often over-think, well, everything, so having these go-together pieces just made this trip simple. (Keep scrolling to see everything on!)
**Meets our requirements for sustainability.
1. A Cute Cotton Sweater, Or Two
As much as I adore my cashmere, I love the option of a lighter-weight sweater. Both of these sweaters are cozy, but not quite as warm as wool or cashmere. These are the kind of options that don’t make things harder.
Fabric & Styling Notes: The cut of this Free People Sweetheart sweater is so cute! And I love the washed black. Pairing it with my easy dad jeans was great for the second day at the Coast. (And what was also great for the second day was waking up and having my coffee…in peace. Game-changing for a recharge right now, and something I need to realize about myself and do a few more times a year.) The striped sweater from Verishop brand ASTARS has a little metallic in some of the stripes adding that special pop. It’s soft and thin enough that makes it great for layering.
2. Easy, On-Trend Dad Jeans
Want an update to your easy weekend jeans that’s also sustainable? These AGOLDE ’90s dad jeans**. These are just cool.
Fit & Styling Notes: I’ll probably get them shortened with the original hem because I love so much, but if you’re shorter like me (5’4″), they’d be great hacked off with a raw hem, too, (easy peasy) like we typically do. Taller mamas, these are pretty long, so you can rejoice in that fact! I sized up in these because I typically do with rigid denim, but I honestly could have gone with my regular size. I’ll wear these with mid-calf boots as it gets cooler. I can’t get away from distressed denim, even as the temps drop. These also come in a less-distressed version, color ‘Captured’ or you could try this great pair of Free People dad jeans with only minimal distressing and none at the knees.
3. Comfy-Cool, Sporty Pants
These suede track pants are my fav new-to-me item of the bunch — so good! (So good they’re going fast! For alternatives, these are gorgeous and these have that sporty comfy vibe! For plus size, these are super close!)
Fit & Fabric Notes: They’re a super-soft vegan suede, making them a bit more luxe — yet still sporty with the side stripes. LOVE. They are so me. They’re nice and high waisted (and a few inches long on my 5’4″ self pre-hemming, so these would totally work for you tall mamas, too). These rad pants and sneakers were comfy for the drive out and a little walk around the cute neighborhood.
4. A Luxe Cashmere Sweater
Well, this was a treat yo’ self gift that I couldn’t resist (on sale at least, yay!) A great cashmere sweater in the mix is never a bad choice.
Brand Notes: Vince is one of our faves for cashmere (ooh, and this shrunken style is on sale right now, too!) but it’s nice that Verishop also has options at other price points, like this Cupcakes & Cashmere v-neck. The nights at the coast really cool down this time of year, so these pieces were perfect for cozying up for a glass of wine outside with my friend.
5. A Leather Moto Jacket
You’ve heard me rave about this AllSaints jacket so much. Haha. I have it in two colors, I adore it. It’s the softest leather, and you just can’t go wrong with a good moto jacket.
Styling Notes: I love wearing mine with sportier pieces, like these pants for a more unexpected combo. If you’re looking to spend a little less, this vegan option is so good. Ooh, and they have another favorite denim jacket of mine, too! Always a good alternative to a moto jacket.
6. A Graphic Tee
It’s definitely on-brand for me to have a graphic tee in my rotation. I l love what this one from ban.do says and actually, they have a ton of great ones (like Take It Easy — also a good reminder.) Of all the years we need to Take Care of ourselves, it’s this year, y’all.
Additional Graphic Tees: I alllmost went with this Mystic tee — a true Stevie Nicks vibe. I could also wear this introvert tee half the time…anyone else half introvert and half extrovert? It’s confusing sometimes, isn’t it? Here’s the tee for those extroverted kinda days. Oh, dang it. I’m not sure which is better now…Take Care or Order the Onion Rings? Same thing?
7. Cute Lounge Pants
These are just easy and cute. They have a drawstring waist and elastic at the cuffs.
Loungewear Options: Verishop has a bunch of cute loungewear options on the site. (Like these wide-leg pants that look so cozy!) During my stay, I was all set with my lounge pants and graphic tee (with the oh-so appropriate message rn) for sleeping, and I threw on one of the sweaters in the morning.

Verishop carries both a bunch of brands we already know and love…Vince, Madewell, AllSaints, AGOLDE, Free People, Theory…and some newer-to-us lines that have really great pieces I was so excited to share — the sweaters, tees, joggers, loungewear you saw above. These are the things we’re living in these days. They also carry some seriously gorgeous beauty and home items, too. You know I’m a picky designer-type and just visiting Verishop’s website makes me happy. It’s beautiful and easy-to-navigate, with quick shipping. It’s like a little escape on the internet…and that’s saying a lot these days.
What are you doing to take care of you right now? When I can’t get to a full night away for a retreat (it’s a full-on luxury, I know) I’m taking deep breaths, sitting outside, watering my plants and doing a little gift shopping for the coming holidays. (Currently eyeing this brilliant, practical gift for like half the people on my list, at least.) I’m a do-and-go-and-always-work-and-check-off-the-list person, usually to the point where I drive myself into a tailspin, but this year has really taught me to slow down and take taking care of myself seriously. We got this, friends. We got this.
Thank you to Verishop and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post. I love, love visiting your site, as I said. It’s so beautiful, and it’s great knowing you’re a resource for some of our favorite brands and some lovely new lines we now know of. I can’t wait to dive into more holiday gifting from your beautiful selection of home and beauty items, too! Thank you so much TME readers for your continued and appreciated support. As usual, all thoughts and opinions and musings are my own.
