Fleeces and cropped jackets and parkas…OH MY! When it comes to jacket styles by The North Face, the options are really good for winter. Normally I would be wrapped up in a million layers by now to face the snowy outdoors, but we’re still showing green grass!
Either way, I’m prepping my closet with some cozy jackets for this season. Whether you live in a more mild climate and simply need a light fleece to keep you warm this winter, or you’re a bit closer to the cold tundra like me and prefer a cute puffer, TNF has us all covered in more ways than one!

I fell hard and fast for TNF’s Cragmont Fleece line that comes in 4 different style options, but also felt my head zigzagging towards the heavier duty styles I know I personally will get the most wear out of this season. I decided to try on varying options that caught my eye: cropped as well as long, a little fleece and some durable jackets! Here we go!
The North Face Cragmont Fleece Coat

I loved the length of this style. The fleece is light, yet still warm for mild winter days, with that extra length providing a little extra warmth, too. I think my favorite part is the tall collar that can be buttoned up for windy moments! I would happily snatch up the Cragmont Fleece in every style it comes in!

The North Face Osito Fleece Jacket

This fleece would be the perfect jacket for someone who lives where the sun shines all year long and only needs a light layer on the colder days. As for winter climates like up north in Michigan, this would be an ideal layering piece under your coat! This Osito fleece would honestly be a perfect piece for lounging around the house, too. It has that “go-to fave sweatshirt” vibe that makes you want to reach for it on chilly mornings. It’s crazy soft and even has iPhone-size-pockets on the inside.

The North Face Arctic Parka

This is what you want for Real Deal Winters. This baby is insulated with goose down, has an adjustable/removable hood with a thick faux-fur lining that perfectly shields your face, and lots of secure zip pockets. I typically grab a medium in all top layers, but with this jacket I would prefer to size up to a large. I like to wear thicker layers in the winter, and the medium was a bit too snug for anything more than a light t-shirt.

The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket

THIS was the unexpected favorite of the bunch. I chose it because it was so fun and different than anything else I was seeing, and I love a good funky item that might make me stand out from the crowd just a bit — but I honestly didn’t even consider how COMFORTABLE of a jacket it would be!! It has a modern boxy cut to it (which is an ironic thing to say, since this was modeled after one of their older styles from the ’90s), a hidden compartment in the collar that stores a hood for the extra wet days, inside pockets, and is unbelievably warm with a goose down fill!

This one’s for the Pinners…

Thank you for your post. Can you share about the jeans you’re wearing too?
Oh! I linked them right at the bottom before I sign off, sorry it’s kind of hidden – they are from H&M!
Had already asked for an Osito for Hanukkah as I’ve been lusting after my mom’s and sister-in-law’s. Works great in the SF Bay Area, CA. May need to look into the Cragmont too.
Love! I imagine the Cragmont would be perfect for SF, too!!
Wait, where’d that baby bump go? [Checks instagram] Congratulations!! And go you for doing a photo shoot and post so soon after giving birth! I don’t think I was even putting together complete sentences at that point.
Ahh thank you!! 🙂
Love and ordered the North Face long fleece, thanks! I think it can do double duty as a house coat/robe here in the high mountains of Colorado. Yup, house coat. To go with my shearling Birks aka house shoes. Keep the winter wear posts coming from you and Scotti, so helpful!
House coat – LOVE!! That’s such a perfect idea!
Renee, I literally did the same thing! I am so impressed Amy. And you look AMAZING.
Oh man thank you!!
