The P448 High-Tops I Wear With Everything

Yesterday, my mom got her pair of zebra P448 sneakers in from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and our text thread went like this: Mom sent cute shoe selfie to me, I said “yay!” She said “the arch support is so good, the rise, the toe box area is so comfy!”

I said, “I know, right?! So cushiony!” Then she sent a pic of a whole shelf in her closet of sneakers and high-tops saying “I think my high-top collection is complete!” End scene. Haha. I come by my love of high-tops naturally.

Also, my mom is cool.

If you know my style at all, you know I don’t ever settle for boring. Well, you probably also know then that when Shana first mentioned that zebra print P448 high-tops were in the sale (and still are through Sunday!) and she immediately thought of me… I may have clapped a little bit like the Target Lady on SNL. (OK, I am her sometimes when I get excited…haha.) And there’s little I get more excited about than a rad, cushiony, bold, animal print high-top from my very favorite cool sneaker brand.

P448 Sneakers: My Favorite Cool High-Tops & 3 Ways To Style Them

What do I love specifically about P448 high-tops? They’re cool AND insanely comfy. I realize they are more of an investment than many brands, BUT they are significantly less expensive than other high-end sneakers like Golden Goose. P448s are also SO much more cushiony and are quite a bit more comfortable than Golden Goose, in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, GG are really cool sneaks, and I love the leopard pair I have. Also, their sneakers have a little bit of a wedge in them that is so flattering on legs. But…which ones do I grab most often? The P448s.

There’s a whole faction of people who aren’t into the broken-in sneaker trend, but I’m still TOTALLY here for it. It’s been around for years now, and there’s just something really cool and chic about the style — AND I find them easily more wearable than bright white sneakers. If you’re not an all-the-time high tops person like I am, I get it. I’ve linked to some lower-priced options that still have a cool vibe below! I can specifically recommend the Dolce Vita pair from the Nordstrom Sale. They’re quite comfy, too! Let’s get into styling these babies up…

1. P448 High-Tops With Shorts

Shorts are the hardest for me to style when it comes to shoes. Birkenstocks always work and some high-tops, but I prefer a bit chunkier high-top like these, rather than, say, a Chuck Taylor. A high-top that adds some width to my foot to balance out my legs and shows the ankle is perfect, and these do just that. These favorite Levi’s 501 shorts — I have lived in them this summer. They are cut higher in front, but longer in the crotch and back. So much more flattering and wearable that way. I love them with my other P448 sneakers and was stoked these look just as good, if not even better with them! This TME X Voloshin top is just the breeziest, and the print is SO lovely.

2. P448 High Tops With Jeans

OK, so these ankle-length raw hem jeans were just made for these shoes, but they’d work great with any ankle jean or cuffed jean that hits just above the top of the shoe. I can’t wait to wear them with my black skinny jeans, too. This tank is from Daily Ritual, and so soft and easy. It works well tucked in or half-tucked into everything. I also like it knotted. It’s a new go-to top! Thinking about snagging it in white, too.

3. P448 High-Tops With Dresses

Dresses are another tricky thing for me to style up and have them feel me. I tend to like to balance out more feminine pieces with something sporty or masculine, and high-tops just pair perfectly in that way with dresses. You’ve seen this ruched Amazon dress before (LOVE LOVE it,) and I’m stoked the sneakers go so perfectly with it, too! I wound up loving this color combo with the taupe jacket, deep red dress, and black and white sneakers. This is a great transitional outfit for right now, too!

While I still love the ones I’ve raved about here, it’s great to see other options at a bit more palatable prices out there now! I couldn’t get the image to show below, but these are offered in a zebra print with a pink star and look pretty similar to mine! I can’t speak to the comfiness, but I do have some Steve Madden low-top sneaks that are quite cushy.

Happy High-Tops wearing, friends. Hope this helps those of you who have already snagged these from the sale, too! I’m still making decisions on other items to keep, but these were a YES as soon as I put them on. Love those finds!

  1. Maybe a dumb Q but do you just tie them behind the tongue? I always like the way shoes look in promo photos without a big ole bow tied in front, but haven’t been able to figure out a solid solution for my own life.

    • Not a dumb question! I leave these with the little knots at the end they came with, so I just slip them on and off with help of the side zippers. If I’m walking a lot that day I’ll tie them up, but otherwise they just stay like this! I think you could probably tie them under the tongue, too!

  2. I would love to see pics of your groovy mom wearing these and how she styles them up! Love, love love the muscle tank and distressed jeans, oh my gosh, so cute!

  3. Love all the outfits! Do you have any Steve Madden high tops? If so, what is the sizing like. It looks like 10 is the highest they go, and I am usually a 10.5.

    • I have in the past and I’d say they run fairly true to size? It’s been a little bit. I’d say probably worth a try!

    • Ah dang you’re right. Looks like smalls are sold out right now. Mediums look available. I hope they come back in stock!

  4. Love this. I splurged for these after your comments about how soft they are in another post. They came in the mail the other day, and I Am in love. They look great with all of my tees, jeans, pants and casual dresses. I love the P448 shoes and how they add interest to my outfits.
