St. Paddy’s Day Outfits You’ll Actually Want to Wear Again

Growing up, my dad would hand out St. Paddy’s Day buttons for us to wear to school each year. Shana and I would fight over the cute “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” one. She would inevitably get it (#oldersiblingperks), and I’d wear a GIANT yellow one with a picture of a leprechaun on it. Each year as they went back into the box, I would vow to get that damn “Kiss Me” one the next year. I remember once when I got to pick first, I ran into Shana’s room with THE button on my shirt, ready with a smug smile on my face. She then proceeded to inform me that wearing buttons to school was not actually cool, and she didn’t want to wear one anyway. Not wanting to be deemed uncool in my sister’s eyes, I took off the button and put it back in the box. And guess who wore that damn button to school that year? That’s right. Shana did. #fooledmeagain

So, whether you’re going to a party or parade with your kids, headed to the pub for some green beer or just chilling at home, here are some outfit ideas that Shana and I would fight over this St. Patrick’s Day . . .

Four St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Ideas

1. St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Idea: House Party

I love the combination of this green shirt and jacket. (Check out how the model wears it here.) It’s that “put-together-but-not-too-dressed-up” look that’s perfect for house parties with friends and kids. (And wine.)

2. St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Idea: Parade

Multiple TME ladies have this jacket and LOVE it. It’s a great outer layer for a cold day. I love the combination of olive green and mint green. (The boots are packable, by the way . . . and they come with a drawstring bag for easy transportation.)

3. St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Idea: Going Out

In the past, I’ve always loved going out to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day, and now I just bring the kids with. OK, so it’s somewhat different (I’ll stick to a green beer or two instead of Irish Car Bombs), but that festive atmosphere is still so much fun and G loves to wear her green too. (Plus Reubens are really, really good.)

4. St. Patrick’s Day Outfit Idea: Lounging

There are so many fun crafts for kids to do on St. Paddy’s Day, if you feel like celebrating from the comfort of your own home. I’m not a crafter by nature, but Pinterest really helps me out with fun and easy ideas: I love this paper plate mask idea or this footprint art poster idea. (I have these leggings; they’re super comfy and fit really well thanks to the high rise.)
