Christmas is without a doubt my favorite holiday, and to say I go all-out is an understatement. I was so excited for our first Christmas in our new home that I may have jumped the gun and decorated a little earlier than usual…but that’s OK because that just means I get to share it with you!
The beauty of my holiday tablescape is that it works for much of the holiday season, not just Christmas. So if you haven’t even begun to think about Thanksgiving table settings (we get it), or you’re dreaming up beautiful Hanukkah table decor, pulling in some of the ideas below will work for those table decorations too (or quite frankly, whatever you’re celebrating, even if it’s just ugly sweater season).
Ideas For The Prettiest Holiday Table Decor, Ever

Find (Or Make) An Awesome Holiday Centerpiece
I created the centerpiece myself using silk stems from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. I found a stand similar to mine on Amazon. If you’re not a crafter, buy a beautiful garland to lay right down the center of the table or lay it across an elevated stand like the one I have!
If you’re interested in making your own centerpiece, I’m happy to write up a tutorial!

Play With Traditional Plaids & Fun Textures
This year, I decided to go classic Christmas in my dining room. I kept the colors traditional and wanted to also incorporate sugared fruits throughout the room. I absolutely love how the plaid table runner and matching napkins from Pottery Barn complement the dark blue walls. Also, how cute are these ivory fax fur napkin rings?! For even more texture, I added some cedar branch placemats from Pier 1 to my table, too.

Hang Mantel & Wall Decor (Like Stockings)
I couldn’t wait to hang our stockings from the mantel. The green tile around the fireplace works perfectly with my classic Christmas theme, and I was so happy that our stockings fit right in. The kids’ stockings are the Woodland Collection from Pottery Barn Kids, and they have the cutest options! For my husband and myself, I went with the Denver Plaid Stockings to tie into the plaid on the table!

Add Finishing Touches: Greenery, Pretty Pine Cones & Bows
These Winslow Fir potted topiaries on either side of my mantel add such a nice touch — and they were a great price! I love the classic look of a topiary. I’ll keep them in here all winter long.

I found these pretty pine cone and fruit topiaries at Hobby Lobby last year on clearance, and I was excited to see them again this year! I added a burgundy bow to pretty much anything I could, because, well, I love me a good bow. You can find these at any local craft store, Walmart, Target, etc., but I’ve also linked some below.

Trim The Tree
For our tree, I knew I wanted to keep with the theme of rich colors and sugared fruits. I found some of the prettiest fruit ornaments like this frosted pomegranate and these gold beaded pear ornaments, also from Hobby Lobby.

Your dining room is stunning. Absolutely gorgeous! I love seeing how you decorate for each season and this does not disappoint! Thank you for sharing it! PS…I’m ordering the stockings right now for my kids!
just beautiful…thank you..xoxox
Lovely ideas but I must say that given how conscious TME tends to be, I am surprised that Hobby Lobby is promoted on this blog. Sustainability applies to women’s health as much as to leggings and sweaters. Think about it please.
Just stunning! I’ve been looking for some gold toned flatware but most is hand wash only or gets awful reviews. How does the Threshold set hold up????
Would love a tutorial on the centerpiece! Also- where are your table and chairs from?
I’m disappointed to see the shoutouts to Hobby Lobby, a company that has vigorously opposed women’s access to birth control, here.
In addition to our power to vote, women can push change through out purchasing decisions. I appreciate TME’s recent orientation toward more sustainable fashion. The ability to plan our families is no less important. Please consider values you are highlighting when you support various companies.
