We get asked a lot about what we actually wear all the time, what we keep after try-ons, and what we’re living in. And while I adore a good blazer outfit and wear those to dinner, brunches, date nights and meetings, most days I’m keeping it real (comfy) by sporting activewear.
Here, I’m going to get into five of the workout and loungewear clothing items I really live in. These pieces are from brands like Nike, adidas, Vuori and Beyond Yoga. Though I cover each one regularly on social media and in my outfit posts, I really wanted to give all the deets on why these pieces are worthwhile investments.
My 5 Fave Comfy Workout + Loungewear Pieces Under $100
I try to hit the barre3 studio at least three times a week, and as someone who adores styling up outfits for a living, I HATE having to change clothes multiple times a day in real life. Haha. I know it doesn’t make sense, but all I can think is that I probably get my fill of wardrobe changes when it comes to work, so please just let me live in versatile athleisure the rest of the time.
In the widget above I’ve included my top activewear picks, plus multiple sizing options and, in some cases, multiple retailers that carry them.
Two more honorable mentions I can’t fail to include are Free People’s lightweight puffer that I wear all the time because it fits over my sweatshirts and this midi dress by Beyond Yoga I’ll wear again all summer. They’re slightly more fringe for this category, but pieces I wanted to share for sure! OK, let’s get to the go-tos.
1. Vuori Tank Tops
tank (S) | similar pants | Vans
Tank tops are by far my favorite thing to both work out in and wear all summer. Sometimes I venture into dresses, but I’m mostly a tank + pants or tank + skirt girl. Vuori makes some of my favorites, like the Mudra Plyo tank. It’s my favorite cut — racerback — for support and fit.
I’ve had this tank since 2021 and live in it in the summer, whether I’m wearing it to a barre class or out adventuring — or even to lunch. It’s supportive and comfy but more structured than the next one.
For lounging and light workouts like yoga, I love the Vuori Performance Crop. It’s so incredibly comfy and in the same performance fabric as the joggers below but with just a bit more structure. It has a shelf bra and removable cup liners just like the Mudra Plyo tank. It’s comfy enough to sleep in, adorable layered under button-down shirts, and great, as I mentioned, for light workouts. Size up.
2. Vuori Performance Joggers
Where To Buy: Vuori (biggest selection) | Vuori Long Length | Nordstrom // Sizes XS-XL + Tall Options
joggers (M) | similar jacket (or this) | similar Nikes
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…best joggers in existence. The Performance Joggers are SO wildly soft, but most important, they don’t stretch out! You can travel in them, sleep in them, and get up and wear them the next day. Ask me how I know. I love these.
True to size for a fitted look; size up for a little more slouch (first pic). They come in a bunch of lovely colors too! My cost-per-wear now is definitely pennies.
The matching Vuori hoodie to complete the set is highly recommended too! I’m wearing this combo as we speak! I sized up on the hoodie and stuck with a small in the pants in the below pic, and you can see they’re a bit more fitted. I love both looks.

3. adidas + Nike Sweatshirts
Where to Buy the adidas Sweatshirt: adidas | adidas plus | Zappos | Nordstrom // Sizes 2XS-XL and Plus 1x-4x
sweatshirt (S) | joggers (S)
I included both the adidas AND the Nike sweatshirts because they’re SO similar. They’re both fabulous, high-quality, oversized cropped fleece top layers. And I LIVE in them both. Until this past fall, I had only the Nike version, but then I got one of the adidas sweatshirts and recently another. Yes, I now have three colors in this fit of sweatshirt because they’re the best.
Why are they the best? Because unlike classic, full-length sweatshirts, these hit right at my waist for a cute fit, AND they’re a little oversized which = comfiness.
Where to Buy the Nike Sweatshirt: Nordstrom | Nike // Sizes: XXS-XXL
sweatshirt (S) | sweatpants (S)
If you own either of these you just know…they become your most-grabbed closet item. I’ve tried to branch out, but alas, if I just want to be comfy cozy and cute — whether I’m in leggings, sweatpants or jeans — I grab one of these.

4. Beyond Yoga Leggings
hoodie (S/M) | bootcut leggings (S) | Nikes
I’ve raved about Beyond Yoga Spacedye leggings for years. I’ve worn the Caught In the Midi regular-style leggings forever and still wear them to barre3 most days, but right now I’m adoring the Spacedye High-Waisted Practice Pants. They’re mini bootcut flare leggings in the same great, amazingly soft, supportive fabric and comfy waist, but with a cute mini bootcut hem that looks adorable over shoes.
I’ve worn these to work out in, on the airplane, to sleep in, and they definitely go on every trip with me because of their versatility. True to size on the fit here. Reminder, I’m 5’4″ and size S/M. I cannot stress how much I love these! They’re one of those things I miss on washdays.

Beyond Yoga also has some new printed leggings that are phenomenal! The lovely friends at barre3 recently sent these to me, and what’s great — besides the typical amazing BY fabric — is that the print is woven in, so it doesn’t stretch out to a white background when you put them on (you know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever worn patterned leggings.)
Here’s another gorgeous ombre print, and gah, this Pressed Flowers print is going fast, but there are some here and here and plus sizes here.
OH, and I forgot the best parts about Beyond Yoga! It’s not only a woman-owned business, but also its clothing can be washed AND dried. Yep. I’ve done it for years, and they last and last. I can’t say enough good things.
5. Popflex Hoodies
zip hoodie (S/M)
These Popflex hoodies are my latest obsessions. I started with the Zip Cloud Hoodie above and then added the pullover below. They’re heavyweight but sooo soft and perfectly oversized without being huge. They’re just so well-designed. You may not have heard of Popflex, but I got sucked in by a really convincing IG ad that included how these hoodies are designed, and I’ve never looked back. I’m so glad to have found them.
Highly recommend! I get more wear out of the Zip Cloud than the pullover, especially now in early spring. But both are so lovely, and I adore this new mint green!

I hope this is a helpful roundup of some of my — truly — most-worn closet items. I’m all for a blazer-and-trousers moment when it calls for it, but what I’m living in daily? These pieces!
xo,
L
