I’ve always been picky about my underwear. I just feel better if I’m wearing something pretty, ya know?
And while I did end up wearing one of those sad, stained nursing bras those first few weeks home with my oldest, as soon as I got my head together enough to venture out in public, I was also ready for a nursing-bra upgrade.
Not only did I want a nursing bra that looked cute for my own private sanity, but I also wanted one cute enough to peek out of my usual nursing-friendly tops — namely V-neck tees and stretchy tank tops.
PSA: If you’ve ever wondered if there are any nursing-friendly strapless bras, I swore by ThirdLove’s strapless bra (goes up to band size 44 and cup size H). It’s the molded cups for me — turns out you can just flip ’em up and down for easy nursing access, and even stick one of those cooling nursing pads in there too.
The Best (& Prettiest) Nursing Bras For New Moms
Other than my strapless bra (which, frankly, was a more advanced maneuver I didn’t really embrace until my second kid), the vast majority of my nursing bras were comfy nursing bralettes with a bit of lace. I especially loved nursing bras in gorgeous colors, or with really pretty straps (lace, perhaps, or a thin, feminine strap), so they looked cute peeking out of tank tops.
Here are 13 of the prettiest nursing bras I could find for this summer.

1. The GOAT: Cosabella Maternity Bra
The Cosabella maternity bra is, arguably, the GOAT of pretty nursing bras. I wore this exact bra while nursing (gahhh, more than a decade ago), and I wore the non-nursing version of this bra under tank tops long after too. Just easy and pretty. $85.
2. ’90s Nostalgia: Calvin Klein Maternity Nursing Bra
There’s something very ’90s nostalgic about this whole set of Calvin Klein underwear. Adore that it comes in a nursing bra. Would be especially cute under a tank top with really low armholes, so you can see the band. $42.
3. Subtly Practical: MOMANDA Nursing Bra Lace Bralette
This lace bralette from Amazon was designed to not look like a nursing bra, and I love the double-strap design. Literally perfect for peeking out under tank-top straps, but the lacy cups means it’ll look just as cute with a V-neck tee too. $25.
4. Playful-Chic: Old Navy Maternity Lace Nursing Bralette Top
Ahhh! This nursing bralette top from Old Navy is so cute! LOVE the color, the playful pattern in the lace and the smooth, thick band. Matching under-bump underwear is available too. Under $30.
5. Amazingly Comfy: On Gossamer Microfiber Wireless Nursing Bra
I had one of these wireless nursing bras, and the light microfiber is amazingly comfortable. A good bra when you don’t really want to wear a bra. Sizes up to 38D available. $44.
6. All In The Details: MOMANDA Lace Nursing Bra
The same style as the MOMANDA bra linked above but with a slightly different lace pattern. I really like the band detail here, as well as the mesh overlay. Best of all, this bra comes in a bunch of colors (and is only, like, $22).
7. Navy Is The New Black: Natori Bliss Wireless Pima Cotton Nursing Bra
This navy, cotton Natori nursing bra is a perfect example of what I wore under white tank tops. Whenever I didn’t want to match my whole outfit to a black nursing bra, I found that a light navy (or purple — which sounds weirder than it looks) worked best. Sizes up to 38DDD available. $55.
8. Easy & Pretty: Gap Maternity Lace Nursing Bra
This pretty, easy nursing bra is available in one other blush tone as well as black. Nothing wild here — just a good, lacy bra. $39.
9. Highly Reviewed: MOMANDA Wire-Free Lace Nursing Bra
This is MOMANDA’s original bra, and it comes in a TON of colors. It’s much more full-coverage than the other styles and has over 6,000 four-star reviews. Sizes go up to a 40E, and reviewers say it runs small. $25.
10. A Team-Fave Brand: Negative Underwear Silky Nursing Bra
We’re HUGE fans of Negative Underwear here at TME, so I was thrilled to see that it offers a nursing bra! This one came about because the founders had a combined three and a half years of nursing between them — but hated all nursing bras. This one goes up to 42DD and retails for $65. If interested in the brand, Amy did a full review of Negative Underwear’s Sieve Bra.
11. Conveniently Convertible: Kindred Bravely Minimalist Maternity & Nursing T-Shirt Bra
While it looks like a standard black bra, this genius T-shirt bra can actually convert to a racerback, which really comes in handy. Also, if you click through, it’s available in Twilight Lace, which is a total stunner. Plus sizes available. $50.
12. Truly Gorgeous: Seraphine Lace Maternity & Nursing Bra
THIS is the nursing bra that looks like the most like the one I wore all those years ago. I realize that the dark lilac shade might not strike one as a “neutral,” but for some reason…it works. A truly gorgeous nursing bra. Goes up to 30F. (This company has several really pretty nursing bras worth checking out.)
13. Hardworking Yet Pretty: Natori Feathers Plunge Underwire Maternity Nursing Bra
The Natori Feathers nursing bra is just one of those hardworking, everyday bras that happens to be really, really pretty. Also in Cafe (the lace detail in the lighter color is even better, if possible) and available up to 44G. $72.
Oof. Now I’m nostalgic for babies.
