All hail the jogger pant! I’ve been eyeing up allll of the joggers for awhile now, wondering which ones I should order. I finally just decided to order ALL of them to see which ones were my ultimate favorites. I’ve been wearing sweatpants and leggings, and the jogger is like the perfect hybrid of both. I tried Lululemon, Athleta, Zella, Vuori and Honeydew Intimates. Here’s what I found:

MY FAVORITES!!!! These are EVERYTHING I wanted in a pair of joggers. Super-comfortable: soft, stretchy and no muffin-top or tightness in the waistband. Shana had given me a heads-up that Lululemon tends to run small, so instead of my typical size 6 (28 in pants), I ordered sizes 8 and 10. I’m glad I sized up because the size 10s were ultimately my favorite fit. They’re slightly baggy without being sloppy and are so smooth in the waist. I can’t get over the “buttery-soft” Nulu™ Fabric (80% Nylon, 20% Lycra® Elastane) that’s lightweight and sweat-wicking with 4-way stretch. (I think I might want my entire wardrobe made out of Nulu.)
Lululemon Align Joggers: Size 10
For the record, this isn’t just a gratuitous picture of me without a shirt…I always want to see the waistband of pants before buying, so I included these pics to show what they look like.
Lululemon Align Joggers: Size 8
These would work as well, but I actually liked the slightly baggy fit of the size 10s. The camo is a fun pattern, and the “buttery soft” texture doesn’t change with the pattern like it does sometimes. I also like that even though these are a lot longer on me than the model, they still work because of the bottom cuff.
I love Zella’s Live In Leggings, so I had to try their joggers. They were OK, but I didn’t like them as much as the Lululemon pair because they were more of a performance fabric (77% polyester, 23% spandex) than a soft jersey knit. I like the overall fit, but wish the waistband wasn’t so tight (although maybe that’s a personal problem!).
UGH how I WISH these came in a shorter length! These would be so cute on someone taller than me (5’4″) because they hit me at such an awkward length, but they are super-crazy-comfy. The fabric is so soft and lightweight, you’ll never want to take these babies off. I need to try their performance joggers*** (I mean, check out those reviews) and their leggings look amazing as well. (Do any of you guys own either?) This was my first Vuori purchase, but it definitely won’t be my last.
***UPDATED*** Check out my review of Vuori’s joggers here!
OK, so technically these are leggings, but they kind of have that jogger shape at the bottom (as well as the drawstring waistband), so I included them. These are so soft and COMFY, and I think they’d be perfect in a size up — I’m wearing a medium, but I don’t like when the waistband comes in at all on the sides–like at all. They’re lightweight and a little bit sheer when you bend over (I did the mirror test and thankfully Zack didn’t walk in on me), so they’re definitely more like PJs or loungewear. They’re so comfortable, though, I’m going to order a size up to wear at home. (Did I mention how soft and comfortable they are??)
These are obviously too small. If I wear them just below the belly button they create muffin top and if I pull them up I’m not digging the camel toe. They were sold out of medium, my usual size, and although my “recommended size” was small, they ran TTS for me. I think a medium would have been perfect. I did like the zipper details on the side and the length was great. They’re more of a performance fabric than a jersey knit, but they were softer than I expected them to be. I thought they were going to be super swishy and noisy, but they were actually really soft.
