The Best of Naadam Cashmere (A Review of Their Sweaters & Joggers)

At the risk of gushing…I’m a big, HUGE Naadam fan. They make the most sustainable cashmere on the planet and — unlike other retailers — never skimp on the details. You want cashmere sweaters with cozy, long arms? Got ’em. You want cashmere so thick and luxe you could drown in it? Right this way. You want cashmere that rarely pills and can be machine washed? Yup — read this on why.

Also? Naadam has inclusive sizing. Everything they make goes up to size XXL, and many pieces — including some I’m featuring below — have a size range of XXS – 3XL.

The Best Cashmere Sweaters & Joggers From NAADAM: A Review

I had first heard of Naadam last year (see my original review here) and those sweaters were — easily!! — my most-worn sweaters all winter, well into spring. I have worn these sweaters out on date nights, I have skied in these sweaters, I have rolled out of bed and grabbed these sweaters off the floor — heck, I’m in one of these sweaters as I type this now.

Annoyingly, my favorites sold out by December of last year.

Happily, Naadam’s newest crop of cashmere is just as good as last year’s (actually….it’s…better?), and totally worth a look. And — WHOA — Naadam is currently offering 25% off with code FLASH25! Sale ends Nov 1.

While I tried on a TON of stuff, only my very favorites made it into this post. Not everything was a win. For example…Naadam…is…um…struggling to make a basic turtleneck sweater? You can see the fails (as well as some of my favs featured here) in my initial try-on video (embedded at the bottom of this post, too).

Most Affordable: Naadam’s $75 Cashmere Sweater

The biggest change this year is that Naadam got rid of their unisex sweaters, including their best selling $75 sweater. However, they brought that $75 sweater back for men (same cut as last year’s unisex $75 sweater), and added a new one for women. The new women’s cut is much more fitted and feminine, but unlike other cashmere sweaters under $100, Naadam didn’t skimp on sleeve length. (But if you loved that old unisex cut, just grab the men’s sweater.)

Naadam’s $75 cashmere sweater is thinner than their regular line, and not quite as soft initially. That said, upon washing it will become much softer. And while the sleeve length (and general drapiness) is superior when compared to other cashmere under $100…Naadam’s regular cashmere line is definitely more luxe.

That said…for $75…this is a tough sweater to beat.

Best Turtleneck: Naadam’s Cashmere Oversized Turtleneck

While I have had a little trouble finding a “normal” turtleneck at Naadam, I love this one. The neckline won’t be for everyone (and my initial reaction was ‘whaa?’) but this sweater is, without exaggeration, THE softest cashmere sweater I have EVER worn. This is truly delicious cashmere: thick, rich, drapey gorgeousness. I give this one my highest possible recommendation.

As you can see, the sleeves have a slight bell shape, yet they are still long and snuggly. This sweater is warm, soft, and simply beautiful. I mean…wow.

Best Oversized: Naadam’s Cashmere Oversized Crew

If you are looking for an insanely warm sweater to layer over tees…this one. It’s *almost* as soft as the turtleneck, but instead of a cropped shape and funnel neck…this sweater envelops in a giant, oversized cut. Yet it’s cut in such a way as to not overwhelm (unlike this one, ahem — a disaster).

I also appreciate that the neckline, while crewneck, is still fairly high. That means that this sweater will layer easily over a tee without looking sloppy.

Best Everyday Cashmere: Naadam’s Marled Cashmere Boyfriend Sweater

If there’s one sweater that’s basically perfect in every way: the fabric, the cut, the color…it’s Naadam’s marled cashmere boyfriend sweater. The shape is traditional, yet the marled color makes it special (and also seems to hide stains, haha).

Word of warning: marled sweaters often sell-out. So if you love it…I wouldn’t wait. (And YES — the color is ever-so-slightly green, as shown.)

Best For Date Night: Naadam’s Cashmere Boatneck Sweater

Naadam’s Cashmere Boatneck Sweater, for $125, is a steal. It’s thin (similar to Naadam’s $75 cashmere sweater), but it’s softer and the knit is…airier. It’s like a cloud on your skin. This sweater also has more length in both body AND sleeves so it nails that whole cozy/sexy vibe.

There’s enough length to actually knot the sweater, but it can easily be tucked. And that off-shoulder silhouette is perfect for cold nights when you still want to look a little dressed up.

Best Cashmere Joggers: Naadam’s Cashmere Cargo Joggers

Naadam has two pairs of cashmere joggers available: the Cashmere Cargo Joggers (which are my favorites) and the regular Cashmere Joggers.

The regular Cashmere Joggers come in a zillion colors, have a size range of XXS – 3X, and the cut appears to be the same cut as Naadam’s everyday joggers (which I own and love). The cashmere is soft and drapey, and yet…I didn’t find them as comfortable. The waistband was a bit too tight, and I was surprised to find that my beloved high-rise, when done in cashmere, felt…constricting. It might be worth going up a size if you are — ahem — softer in the middle, like me.

Naadam’s Cashmere Cargo Joggers, on the other hand, aren’t quite as high-rise, and the waistband isn’t nearly as tight. They run a bit big (and only go to XXL) but they are insanely comfortable. You can see my full review of them here.

Most Random Win: Naadam’s Cashmere Bra Top (yes, seriously) & Matching Cropped Cashmere Pants

This…I ordered on a lark, really. I had ordered so many things to review I was like WHY NOT? Just to, ya know…see. What’s one more thing in that bag ‘o returns?

Well, the joke is on me, because I kept that darn set. I may do a whole post attempting to explain my ridiculous inclinations, BUT FOR WHATEVER IT’S WORTH…I’ve been wearing this set every freaking weekend. It’s like…my “dress up” loungewear.

I know.

And if you want to see that try-on video….voila.

Gosh, you guys, it’s such a freaking treat to cover retailers who are not only making gorgeous (and practical) things, but making them in a more sustainable way, AND with inclusive sizing.

Well done, Naadam.

  1. Do they have anything comparable to the $150ish price range unisex sweater that was offered last year (thanks to your review!)? I love the weight of it, slightly thicker than the $75 range offering.

  2. I have been waiting for this. I bought the marled sweater on your advice earlier this year-perfection!
I still love the unisex from last year.
I have not bought the joggers yet, I am afraid they will
make me too hot with a sweater.
Did you get anything, even a fail, in the dark teal the color looks so special?

    • The teal is gorgeous. I had ordered the sweatpants and matching hoodie in the teal…but didn’t love the cut of either one enough to even shoot it. However, before I send it back, I’ll throw something up on IG so you can at least see it. The hoodie looks REALLY cute on the model, but was totally underwhelming in real life. I think…I think the model probably sized up significantly – that might actually be the key for both pieces (unless you have a small waist – then the joggers will likely fit great). 3. That boatneck sweater is perfect! Exactly what I want to be wearing right now. Well, that or dress up loungewear! Haha! Love all of the pieces. And your gigantic mirror! Gorgeous!

  4. I have that boatneck sweater and I’m sorry to say…. it’s not really my favorite. The cashmere pilled more then any of my others and it just kind of looks…. stretched out and shapeless? It was disappointing because I loved the look of it!

  5. I always look forward to your articles on Naadam. I’ve come to realized that I have probably developed a slit unhealthy relationship with them. I received my boyfriend sweater last week…thank you so much for the recommendation. I would never have considered it if it was not for your posting. I’m with you on the traditional turtleneck…was actually considering buying the mens black turtleneck in XS. I’m also interested in the recycle cashmere crew in the marled brown…too many great options. Thanks again.

  6. The sleeves! I have taken 40-some years to understand that my sweater sleeves need to be this long. I am obsessed with longer sleeves. And I am tall (long arms) so this is a challenge.

Any chance of a roundup of longer-sleeved sweaters in addition to these?

  7. I purchased the marled boyfriend sweater, but sending it back. I LOVED the feel and the color, but the cut was weird on me; something about the sides made me very self consious. Even my husband who doesn’t notice a thing, said “uh, what’s with the sweater.” So sad, because the feel makes me want to sleep in it. MIght try the oversized crew neck, but now I’m nervous.

  8. I just tried on six sweaters and 3 joggers. I was excited to try this brand because I have very sensitive skin and almost all cashmere (except sweaters in the $700 range 🙄) are too itchy for me. The only Naadam items that weren’t too itchy were the ones with the name Luxe in them, and the joggers (not cargo). The joggers were by far the least itchy and I never want to take them off. The sweaters… I’m struggling to decide if I should keep one because they all have weird cuts. If I’m paying this much for something, I want a classic cut that will stand the test of time. I wanted a v-neck but the v-neck was too boxy and the turtle neck… well it’s just not what I wanted and the sleeves are too blousy. So I don’t know. I wish everything wasn’t an “oversized” style because if I want to size down to make it a normal fit, then the sleeves are too short. Oh! That’s the other thing, the sleeve lengths were kind of all over the place.
But I agree with others, the boatneck was my favorite cut, I just wish it hadn’t been so itchy.
Pro tip – their softness scale didn’t mean much. I didn’t buy anything that didn’t have a “Heavenly Soft” rating and yet I found them to have a wide range of softness.
If you try nothing else, at least try the joggers. I got a large but I’m exchanging for a medium. I’m 5’9” and usually an 8-10. Hope this helps!

  9. I realize this is an older thread but I wanted to share some feedback- I placed a couple of orders and need to return some items. I’m super disappointed by the lack of customer service- no number to call- only emails that don’t get responded to. Additionally, I asked if I could combine my returns into one bag since it’s literally two items and they said no. First, that’s not sustainable! Second, it’s expensive. I had no idea they charge $12.75 per order to return. So I’m going to be out $25. Also, one of my orders is showing up as not eligible to return, even though it never said final sale when I ordered it! Shana, I love your taste in clothes but this isn’t a friendly site when it comes to customer service- I’m left feeling ripped off and stuck. I’ve reached out to customer service and had no luck. If you’re a representative for them you should know about this. I’ll never shop there again.

  10. Thank you. I appreciate that you’re taking the time to follow up. I really love your recommendations and agree that Naadam had nice quality items. I did keep a couple of sweaters. If they can get the customer service piece figured out it would be great.
    Sticking with Nordstrom until then!
Hope your Xmas was peaceful and contained some moments of joy.
