At the risk of gushing…I’m a big, HUGE Naadam fan. They make the most sustainable cashmere on the planet and — unlike other retailers — never skimp on the details. You want cashmere sweaters with cozy, long arms? Got ’em. You want cashmere so thick and luxe you could drown in it? Right this way. You want cashmere that rarely pills and can be machine washed? Yup — read this on why.
Also? Naadam has inclusive sizing. Everything they make goes up to size XXL, and many pieces — including some I’m featuring below — have a size range of XXS – 3XL.
The Best Cashmere Sweaters & Joggers From NAADAM: A Review
I had first heard of Naadam last year (see my original review here) and those sweaters were — easily!! — my most-worn sweaters all winter, well into spring. I have worn these sweaters out on date nights, I have skied in these sweaters, I have rolled out of bed and grabbed these sweaters off the floor — heck, I’m in one of these sweaters as I type this now.
Annoyingly, my favorites sold out by December of last year.
Happily, Naadam’s newest crop of cashmere is just as good as last year’s (actually….it’s…better?), and totally worth a look. And — WHOA — Naadam is currently offering 25% off with code FLASH25! Sale ends Nov 1.
While I tried on a TON of stuff, only my very favorites made it into this post. Not everything was a win. For example…Naadam…is…um…struggling to make a basic turtleneck sweater? You can see the fails (as well as some of my favs featured here) in my initial try-on video (embedded at the bottom of this post, too).
Most Affordable: Naadam’s $75 Cashmere Sweater
The biggest change this year is that Naadam got rid of their unisex sweaters, including their best selling $75 sweater. However, they brought that $75 sweater back for men (same cut as last year’s unisex $75 sweater), and added a new one for women. The new women’s cut is much more fitted and feminine, but unlike other cashmere sweaters under $100, Naadam didn’t skimp on sleeve length. (But if you loved that old unisex cut, just grab the men’s sweater.)
Naadam’s $75 cashmere sweater is thinner than their regular line, and not quite as soft initially. That said, upon washing it will become much softer. And while the sleeve length (and general drapiness) is superior when compared to other cashmere under $100…Naadam’s regular cashmere line is definitely more luxe.
That said…for $75…this is a tough sweater to beat.
Colors: navy (pictured), white, oatmeal, camel, dark ginger, peach, cement, black, forest green, blue horizon, peacock blue, smoke, olive, red sangria
Size Range: XXS – XXL
Best Turtleneck: Naadam’s Cashmere Oversized Turtleneck
While I have had a little trouble finding a “normal” turtleneck at Naadam, I love this one. The neckline won’t be for everyone (and my initial reaction was ‘whaa?’) but this sweater is, without exaggeration, THE softest cashmere sweater I have EVER worn. This is truly delicious cashmere: thick, rich, drapey gorgeousness. I give this one my highest possible recommendation.
As you can see, the sleeves have a slight bell shape, yet they are still long and snuggly. This sweater is warm, soft, and simply beautiful. I mean…wow.
Colors: oatmeal (pictured), black and raspberry (hot pink).
Size range: XXS – XXL
Best Oversized: Naadam’s Cashmere Oversized Crew
If you are looking for an insanely warm sweater to layer over tees…this one. It’s *almost* as soft as the turtleneck, but instead of a cropped shape and funnel neck…this sweater envelops in a giant, oversized cut. Yet it’s cut in such a way as to not overwhelm (unlike this one, ahem — a disaster).
I also appreciate that the neckline, while crewneck, is still fairly high. That means that this sweater will layer easily over a tee without looking sloppy.
Colors: smoke (pictured), pale yellow and merlot
Size range: XXS – 3X
Best Everyday Cashmere: Naadam’s Marled Cashmere Boyfriend Sweater
If there’s one sweater that’s basically perfect in every way: the fabric, the cut, the color…it’s Naadam’s marled cashmere boyfriend sweater. The shape is traditional, yet the marled color makes it special (and also seems to hide stains, haha).
Word of warning: marled sweaters often sell-out. So if you love it…I wouldn’t wait. (And YES — the color is ever-so-slightly green, as shown.)
Colors: marled gray (pictured), marled camel
Size range: XXS – XXL
Best For Date Night: Naadam’s Cashmere Boatneck Sweater
Naadam’s Cashmere Boatneck Sweater, for $125, is a steal. It’s thin (similar to Naadam’s $75 cashmere sweater), but it’s softer and the knit is…airier. It’s like a cloud on your skin. This sweater also has more length in both body AND sleeves so it nails that whole cozy/sexy vibe.
There’s enough length to actually knot the sweater, but it can easily be tucked. And that off-shoulder silhouette is perfect for cold nights when you still want to look a little dressed up.
Colors: bark brown (pictured, but the sun made the sweater look warmer than it is), merlot, black, smoke, purple orchid
Size range: XXS – 3X
Best Cashmere Joggers: Naadam’s Cashmere Cargo Joggers
The regular Cashmere Joggers come in a zillion colors, have a size range of XXS – 3X, and the cut appears to be the same cut as Naadam’s everyday joggers (which I own and love). The cashmere is soft and drapey, and yet…I didn’t find them as comfortable. The waistband was a bit too tight, and I was surprised to find that my beloved high-rise, when done in cashmere, felt…constricting. It might be worth going up a size if you are — ahem — softer in the middle, like me.
Naadam’s Cashmere Cargo Joggers, on the other hand, aren’t quite as high-rise, and the waistband isn’t nearly as tight. They run a bit big (and only go to XXL) but they are insanely comfortable. You can see my full review of them here.
Colors: oatmeal (pictured), rust, black
Size range: XXS – XXL
Most Random Win: Naadam’s Cashmere Bra Top (yes, seriously) & Matching Cropped Cashmere Pants
This…I ordered on a lark, really. I had ordered so many things to review I was like WHY NOT? Just to, ya know…see. What’s one more thing in that bag ‘o returns?
Well, the joke is on me, because I kept that darn set. I may do a whole post attempting to explain my ridiculous inclinations, BUT FOR WHATEVER IT’S WORTH…I’ve been wearing this set every freaking weekend. It’s like…my “dress up” loungewear.
Colors: walnut brown (pictured), pale gray, black
Size range: top XXS – XXL, bottoms XXS – 3X
And if you want to see that try-on video….voila.
Gosh, you guys, it’s such a freaking treat to cover retailers who are not only making gorgeous (and practical) things, but making them in a more sustainable way, AND with inclusive sizing.
Well done, Naadam.
