Ladies with a booty, listen up: this one’s for you.
After driving down (from Michigan) to Carolina Beach, I started working out outside of the house. (Crazy, right?) The warmer climate and ocean is like the best motivation ever, but you know what else has helped?
Exercising in cute clothes.
I love everything Vuori. In fact, the majority of my overnight suitcase for our multi-day drive consisted of Vuori Performance joggers and hoodies, plus their Halo wide-leg pants. My husband’s overnight bag included Vuori’s ridiculously soft t-shirts and joggers. These pieces are perfect for long hours sitting in the car and quick hotel workouts and can be used as pajamas or even cover-ups by the pool. (There’s a reason I have the exact same pieces in multiple colors.)
Leggings, Bike Shorts & A Crop Top: Vuori Apparel That Performs AND Flatters
But when I opened my most recent Vuori package and saw the crop top that came with the leggings, I had to laugh out loud. It looked really cropped…way more than I thought it would be. And literally the last thing I want to wear outside is a crop top that shows my belly (I mean, I’ve had two C-Sections and a brain surgery that left a big scar on my stomach where a fat graft was taken). But…I thought I’d just try it on anyway, just to be sure.
And you know what? I actually liked it.
Vuori High-Rise Studio Pocket Leggings Aren’t Just Functional, They’re Flattering & Curve-Friendly
The key? These high-rise leggings. I’m telling you, these leggings are nothing short of amazing.
Vuori’s Studio Pocket Leggings hug you in all the right places and come up high enough for more coverage, without squeezing too tight in the waist. They smooth everything out and make bums look…well, just better.
They have pockets on both sides, as well as one along the inner waistband. I love that I can stash cash, credit cards, my headphone case, and even my phone without worrying about dropping anything. Most importantly, they stay put — even when running. (I’ve spent many walks and runs reaching down and pulling up my leggings, so I think this is especially awesome.)
And the ribbed paneling has been especially well-designed in the, um, rear view. Not only does it flatter us mamas with a booty, but it will almost sculpt one.
The Halo Performance Crop Top Is Shockingly Good
This crop top (that I now love) has a built-in bra that gives light support for stretching or yoga (but if you’re bigger busted and wanting to run, I’d suggest adding a bra underneath — learned that the hard way). 😂
The back is super pretty, too…I love the straps. (Vuori has some awesome strappy bras that would look great layered underneath.)
Vuori Studio Pocket Shorts Are As Good As The Leggings
I tried the short version of the leggings, the studio pocket shorts, and loved them too. They have the same ribbed fabric and back panel design as the leggings, so are really flattering on my curves.
I typically have a hard time finding shorts to work out in. They either ride up or dig in too much in the thigh, but these function just as well as the leggings, and have the same super-convenient pockets.
The Crewneck Sweatshirt Is Another Unexpected New Love
And finally, this sweatshirt? LOVE. It’s the perfect companion to both the leggings and the shorts: easy to throw on post-workout or anytime you want to be comfy, really. It’s slightly higher in the front than the back (it does a nice job of covering the booty) and is made from super-soft organic stretch French terry.
I ordered up a size (medium, I’m usually a small in tops) to get a bit more of that oversized look and ended up wearing it a ton on the way down here with the leggings and joggers. (And I was happy to see it was warm enough for me to wear it with shorts once we got here!) It’s lighter than a typical sweatshirt material and softer than the average terry — perfect for spring and summer!
Happy working out, everyone!
