Agolde seems to be one of the most-loved brands when it comes to denim shorts. They have been on my radar for years, and finally, after most of my shorts got too small for my post-quarantine body–or maybe my summer clothing storage box had shrinking powers–I had to find new pairs I loved.
Agolde High-Waisted Denim Shorts Try-On
In this video, I order and try five styles of Agolde shorts, including the famous Parker Vintage Cutoffs and Dee high-rise styles, all in different sizes and washes. As you may know, sizing sometimes varies from wash to wash, and I wanted you to have as much information about them as possible. For me, I loved the Agolde Dee Ultra High Waist, the Agolde Riley High-Rise Slim, and the Jaden High-Rise as a shorter option, but I want to explore the Parker Long shorts. Are you ready for them all?

Agolde Dee Super High-Rise Shorts (Precision Wash)
Rise: 12″ and 4″ inseam
Material: 100% organic cotton, but they feel softer than most shorts with this fabric composition.
Sizing: With this wash, one size up is perfect. My true size fit, but it was a little too snug for me, and the 28 (two sizes up) was too big. In the photo on the left, I’m wearing my regular size 26 (too snug). On the right, I went two sizes up 28 (too big).
Agolde Dee Super High-Rise Take 2 (Ricochet)

So this whole try-on happened because of these shorts. I loved the wash, high-rise, and inseam. In fact, it’s one of the pairs I kept and get the most compliments on.
Rise: 12″, and 4″ inseam
Material: 100% cotton, this is the more rigid wash in all the Dee washes, but they have softened with three wears already.
Sizing: Size up one for a little more room. These will give with wear. Size up two if you have thicker thighs. I went for a 28, which is two sizes up from my usual 26, and even though they have relaxed a bit, I’m happy I went for this size.
Agolde Dee Super High-Rise Take 3 (Exhibit Wash)
Rise: 12″ and 4″ inseam.
Material: 100% cotton. These are super soft and slightly thinner than the other washes.
Sizing: You can go with your regular size because they are more TTS. I’m wearing a 27, which is a size up, and they were huge.
Agolde Parker Vintage Cut-Off (Swapmeet Wash)

Rise and inseam: 11″ rise and 2.5″ inseam
Material: 100% cotton, but it’s very soft.
Sizing: These are wide at the waist, so perfect if you want or need more space there. In my opinion, they run TTS, but you can size up if you like an even more relaxed fit. I’m wearing a size up and they felt too big in the waist.
Agolde Parker Long (Panna Cotta)
I loved these cutoffs! The length, a nice rise if you don’t like a super high-rise and super soft. They’re also selling out super fast; I think it’s because they’re great for thick thighs.
Rise and inseam: 10″ rise and 4″ inseam.
Material: 100% cotton, but it’s very soft.
Sizing: Did you see the video? I had to go down to a 25 for the perfect size. So consider sizing down, or your true size for an even more relaxed feel. Now, this is specific to this wash as sizing can vary from wash to wash. Stay tuned for a full Agolde Parker post.
Agolde Jaden High-Rise Shorts (Swapmeet Wash)
The Jaden shorts are a favorite. Yeah, I know I said I don’t like short shorts, but the fit was fantastic. The only reason I didn’t keep them is that the wash doesn’t go with my closet’s color palette. It’s too cool and light, and clashes with my deep and warm closet. I want to try this other wash.
Rise and inseam: 11″ rise and 2.5″ inseam.
Material: 100% cotton, but it’s very soft.
Sizing: A size up was perfect for me. The waist is narrower than the Parker fit.
Agolde Riley High-Rise Slim Legs (Outsider Wash)
“I like those shorts,” said my husband when he came home and I was trying these on. The rise, length and wash were perfect.
Rise and inseam: 11″ rise and 4″ inseam.
Material: 100% cotton, but it’s very soft.
Sizing: Size up one. But, if you have very slim legs, you could try your true size.
So, Which Agolde Denim Shorts are Best?
It depends on your body, style and preferences. I hope the video, measurements and sizing notes can help you find your perfect pair. For me, I loved the Agolde Dee Ultra High Waist, and the Agolde Riley High-Rise Slim, and the Jaden High-Rise as a shorter option, but I want to explore the Parker Long shorts.
