Hi! I’m trying to see how many times I can say “cozy” in my posts from October through February…so far the count is…a lot.
Get ready for more cozy with the ever-popular Amazon Orolay Coat! I got mine last winter and haven’t looked back…until now. And now I want all the colors.
Amazon Orolay Coat Encore: A Review Of 5 Colors
I thought it’d be helpful to show some more Amazon coat options, besides my own in green, on a real person. You may have seen me wearing this coat here last year, but I never really reviewed the details of it. I’ve also discovered that there are a few slight differences in some of the options of the Orolay Amazon Coat, so I thought going through all that info here could be useful, too.

Amazon Coat Pros: My favorite thing about this coat is that it feels like wearing a cozy comforter around. The hood lining is beyond soft and warm, and the boxy body is nice and roomy and creates a cute shape.
The coat does come in around the hips, but with the side zipper options you can open them up for a little more room. The hood sits up around your neck creating a cute funnel neck look and the zipper and pocket details are just rad.
Overall Sizing Notes: The Orolay Amazon coat is probably most comfy for those of us with shorter frames and not-too-long arms. You don’t have to be petite (I don’t really fit well into most petite clothing,) but if you have broad shoulders and long arms this may not be the coat for you.
If, however, like me you always feel like you look like a kid playing dress up in many of the coat selections out there, you will love this. All of this is to say, while boxy in the body, the arms and shoulders run smallish on this.
I’m 5’4″ and typically a 4-6/Small in coats, and I wear a Small in this. My arms aren’t short at all (hence why most petite stuff doesn’t work for me) but not super-long, either and the sleeves on this are just perfect. I’ve heard from some taller friends that the sleeves were too short. The solid colors are offered in quite a range of sizes though from XXS – 5X.
Amazon Coat In Beige
This color is the reason for this post. I wanted to try this on and…goodness. I love it. I kinda wish I had gone with this over the green I wound up buying last year, but hindsight is 20/20 and all…taupe! Or beige, I guess they officially call it. So cute.
Linzi and I agree (she wrote a review of this coat last year) that the lighter colors in this coat are our favs as they show off the cute zipper and pocket detail. You lose those cool deets in the darker shades. This may or may not matter to you, but that’s why I wanted to show you a few options! The wrinkles eventually fall right out, too, btw.

Amazon Coat In Metallic Army Green
This one is the second reason for the post. I ordered this to try last year and stupidly didn’t take a picture. I was so mad that it didn’t have the cozy lining like the others that I promptly just sent it back. Haha.
Well, besides the missing soft lining this thing is SO RAD. It has built-in wrist warmers/thumbholes and gosh this fabric is just super-cool looking. The other details like the shape and pockets are the same, but it is missing the zipper ribbon, which I wish they had included. This is a really chic, cool choice. One of my top picks.

Amazon Coat In Bright Red
Well, I’ll just tell you this one surprised me. I’m not typically one to seek out red coats, but how fun is this? I feel like it has Canadian vibes and I love that.
While it’s probably not the quality of the Canada Goose coats it reminds me of, if you like that look in a still-cozy, more affordable option? This is for you. All the details here are the same as my green coat.

Amazon Coat In Navy + Faux Fur Hood
OK, this one was really the only option I was pretty disappointed in. The faux fur around the hood is just…sad. It’s kinda droopy and not like the pictures on Amazon. Womp, womp. And it wasn’t removable.
This photo is brightened some, but you can also see what I was talking about with losing some of the cool zipper and pocket detail in the darker colors. I didn’t even try the black option due to that reason, but I’d say navy, while a pretty shade, isn’t one I’d recommend. The faux fur hood option does come in red, green, black and two camo versions, too, though.

Amazon Coat In Green
And here we have the one I’ve worn a TON for a year now. Here in Portland we don’t have super-low temperatures, but it does stay below freezing at night for quite a few months. I got so much wear out of this for family walks, running errands, school drop off (so cozy in the morning to put this on!) and this year — PORCH HANGS.
I even found a $5 bill in this one the other day when I put it on! I think that’s a good sign, don’t you?

Have you tried out the Amazon coat or found something similar you love? I’m a big fan of Everlane puffy coats, too. I have this one, and it’s awesome and warm, and yet not too puffy.
Honestly the goal here is finding one you love; I know there are both haters and lovers of this one above! I’m still solidly in the lovers camp and seriously contemplating getting that beige. Haha. What’s your favorite color in this phenomenon of a coat??

Oh, hey, Pinners…this one’s for you.

I hate to yuck someone else’s yum, but… does anyone else just not ‘get’ this coat? It looks great on Laura, but when I see it in real life, it is just not flattering, no matter the age/height/body type. And I live in MN, where you need a good warm coat, so I would have been willing to try it if I had been convinced, but I’m just not.
I know you say that you don’t normally choose red, but it looks so good on you!
I hear ya Pam. I had such high hopes for this coat but it looked awful on me. Like I was wearing a paper bag. But then I see it on people like Laura and they look fab. Sigh.
I love the look of the coat, but the reviews on amazon are not good. says it falls apart
I bought the Bagatelle version (exact dupe!) at Nordstrom Rack last winter (on suuuper sale btw!!) and I freaking love it!! It’s so cozy and warm, like wearing a sleeping bag! And while it may to be the most flattering coat I think it’s got such a cool vibe that I didn’t care! I bought the green because the beige totally washed me out (silver blonde hair plus fair skin plus beige coat=where’s Lisa?!)
