Portable Table

I basically have Backcountry to thank for everything I need to get me through the summer. From portable tables (like the one above that holds drinks and keeps food from getting sandy) to the perfect beach chairs, and sun shades for the kids, Backcountry has completely brought my summer game to the next level.

Jacket | Sweatshirt

Hi. I know it’s hot most everywhere (love you, Portland, glad you’re cooling off!), but it’s a great time to snag some cozy pieces on sale. This Mountain Hardware jacket is SO light but SO warm. The Richer/Poorer sweatshirt is my very fav fit. I’m also eyeing this YETI cooler that you can get 15% off of with our code THEMOMEDIT and you can use that for me and Gwen’s fav coffee mug, too!

Jacket | Pants

I’m living in a true four-season state for the first time in a decade. I am interested in sales that will allow me to stock up on a much-needed winter wardrobe! I have my eye on this insulated jacket that comes in a gorgeous dusty rose (can’t go wrong with The North Face) and these amazing On The Go 2.0 pants. Also on my shopping list? Hiking apparel and base layers for skiing!

Boots (left) | Boots (right)

Every time I get on this website, I immediately want to leave my desk and go hiking (or anything active outdoors). It’s so inspiring!! I found a ton of my fav items from Alo Yoga on sale; they have the best sweatshirts (and jackets, I wear this one in the winter and it’s incredibly warm). Also, a few pairs of my tried & true boots are in there…if you can find your size, you won’t regret scooping them up! Xx

Left: Backpack | Windbreaker | Shorts | Boots | Water Bottle
Right: Pants | Boots

Whoa, friends — this backpack is down to 45% off, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a sturdy hiking daypack that doubles as a hydration pack. On sale, it’s under $75, which is pretty dang good for a pack with so many features. Loads of organization capabilities, a detachable rain fly, a stowable helmet flap, reflectors — and it comes with the hydration bladder. It’d make an excellent mountain biking or bike commuting pack, too (and it’s available in a dark gray, if you prefer — I think it’s maybe $7 more). We’ve packed it with layers for all three of us, a water bottle, plenty of snacks, first aid supplies and more, and we’ve yet to max it out. It’s not what I’d call lightweight, but if you’re looking for an all-purpose, not-too-big pack for a variety of outdoor adventures, it’s great. Find more details on the rest of my hiking outfit, boots included, in this post.

And the On the Go Cargo Pants? Well, I waxed poetic about them in this post, but the short story is that they’re way chicer than any hiking pant I’ve ever worn. Lightweight, thin, stretchy, moisture-wicking, flattering — and yet you could almost dress them up, too. Impressive, folks. Size up if you’re between or if you have an ample booty or thighs. (I’m wearing a S.)

I love when Backcountry sales are in full swing because it’s always a great time for me to stock up on new things I’ve had my eye on. I mentioned these sneakers before, and am still obsessed with them. Adidas have always been a go-to for me, and fit perfectly for my wider feet. Oh, and one of my favorite sweaters that can be worn both for hiking and everyday wear is on sale in a gorgeous navy color. Happy sale shopping, y’all!

Vasque Boots | Smartwool Socks (red on super sale and the color doesn’t matter b/c they DON’T show!)

SO many fun camping items on sale that are perfect for actual camping…or living room camping with the kids…or the kind of camping that happens sometimes when you decide to pile too many people into a house and you have to sleep on a random floor (anyone else???). My top pick for all three of these situations is this double sleeping bag (so cute and cozy). For actual outdoor time, these Vasque boots are on sale (super supportive and super high quality) and one of my fav no-show socks the Smartwool Secret Sleuths. The red is on MAJOR sale and the color really doesn’t matter b/c that’s the whole idea…you can’t see them! You can also use our code THEMOMEDIT to get a discount on the other color if you’d prefer.

fleece

Crazy that I don’t have a better picture of North Face’s Cragmont Fleece, but it was one of those clutch pieces I wore allllll the time: around the campfire, at the shore, after hikes, on cool evening walks, and outdoor dining with a chill in the air.  It’s a great piece, and looks shockingly stylish for a North Face fleece. I’m wearing a size small. Pax’s fuzzy little fleece is on sale, too, here…or more sizes/colors here (and boy do I wish brands would stop separating kids’ clothes by gender – it’s so stupid).

  1. Hear, hear! Stop separating boys and girls clothes! My boys loved pink and my daughter loves basketball shorts and red and orange.
