“I’m a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world… Life in plastic, it’s fantastic.”
I remember it like it was yesterday: The sun was setting, and we were driving down the highway with the convertible top down while listening to Aqua’s “Barbie Girl.” I was 6 years old living my best life in California with my mom, and it was seriously such a magical time for me. That memory will forever be one of my favorites, and needless to say, my love for all things Barbie stuck around for a very, very long time.
Which is why when I found out that Barbiecore was having its moment in the world of fashion and on TikTok, I knew I needed to jump on the Barbie bandwagon ASAP! The Barbie aesthetic is truly everywhere right now, and some major celebs have been rocking the head-to-toe pink looks. Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Kim Kardashian have all been seen in numerous pink ensembles, and let me tell you all — they look damn good!
Be A Barbiecore Baddie: 15 Hot Pink Essentials To Get You Started
I love how fun and bubbly Barbiecore fashion feels. It’s playful, and there are so many different ways to add this aesthetic to your wardrobe. The pieces I’ve selected are perfect for those of you who are just looking to take a dip into the world of Barbiecore, and for those of you who are ready to take a full-on dive, I’ve got you covered too! Let’s get into it!
One of the simplest ways to dip your toes into Barbiecore is to just start dabbling with more pink. And what better way to do that than with a great sweater? The ribbing on this gorgeous Free People cashmere turtleneck takes it to the next level, and it would pair so well with jeans or a silky slip skirt.
This Reformation slip dress is my absolute favorite piece from the entire roundup. It’s giving total Barbie Goes on a Date vibes, and I am here for it! I love the satin material and the elegant slit, and the bodice is absolute perfection. I will be trying this one on for myself and can’t wait to let you all know what I think!
If you are looking for a dress that’s a bit more versatile, then I’d recommend that you take a look at Good American’s bodycon dress. It pairs perfectly with sneakers but can totally be dressed up too.
Reformation is one of my absolute favorite places to shop for dresses, and they’re acing the Barbiecore aesthetic right now. This dress is giving Barbie Goes on a Beach Vacay to Maui, and I really love how flirty the floral pattern is.
I absolutely love the idea of wearing a pink-on-pink workout set, and lululemon’s pink pieces are the perfect color for that vibrant Barbie look! I personally love that this tank is a bit longer than your typical sports bra but is still slightly cropped.
These platform sandals are truly quite high, but they’re so beautiful, and I think they would work perfectly with all the silky Reformation dresses on my wish list. Heck, they would even look great with a pair of jeans and a graphic tee!
These are the matching leggings you need to complete your pink-on-pink workout ensemble! The Align leggings are some of my absolute favorites, and I would rock this fit at Yoga or Zumba!
This Free People fleece jacket seems the most on-brand for all of us Colorado babes — or really any of us who are looking for cute layers for the chilly weather ahead. What I love about adding a pop of color like this is that it works so well with neutrals and classic black leggings.
Mara Hoffman designs some of the most stunning swimsuits you will find. She has a pretty great pink selection available right now, but this one-piece swimsuit took the cake for me! While I typically am not a fan of one-pieces, I really love how timeless this one is.
Blazers have been having their moment for a long time, and the oversized-blazer look is almost synonymous with that off-the-runway model look. This linen Open Edit jacket is simple and priced very well too!
If you aren’t ready to commit to wearing Barbiecore clothing, then I suggest you start with a fun and flirty lip! My most-worn lip gloss is Lawless’ Forget the Filler lip gloss, and I have gone through several tubes and own it in most of the shades it comes in. It will give you that fun pop of color with a high-gloss finish and a bit of a natural plump too! It’s seriously so good!
I absolutely love the Retro Runner sneakers from rag & bone, and I tested out several pairs of these oh-so-comfortable sneakers last season. I landed on the cream sherpa sneakers and now am convinced I need to add these pop-of-pink sneakers to my collection.
This Reformation knit dress is a perfect mini-style dress, but it’s slightly longer than your typical mini. It has a stretchier material as well, and the mock turtleneck is fun for fall.
I may or may not have an extensive robe collection…but what’s one more?! This pink satin robe a shorter length than what I typically gravitate toward, but it’s perfect for feeling a little more luxe while you get ready for the day or date night.
Last but certainly not least is my favorite category of clothing…loungewear! I live in lounge clothes and athleisure wear most days, and I’m quite certain this Free People sweater set would be my most-worn from the entire roundup of Barbiecore aesthetic pieces.
Oh, and P.S. Amy loves this set too!
Well, I don’t know about you, but I am so excited about the Barbiecore aesthetic that’s making waves across all of social media right now! Stay tuned for a follow-up with a few of the pieces that I’m ordering!
