Bike shorts, I’ve decided, are the warmer-weather version of leggings. And since Leggings Are Pants has become only more entrenched as we move further through this pandemic…I take back alllllll of the bad things I did in the in name of bike shorts.
God, I hate when those April Fool’s jokes come back to haunt me.
Personally, I needed to find a pair of biker shorts that were short enough (like these). Longer bike shorts cut off my legs in a weird spot, so I prefer mine suuuuper short. Almost booty shorts. And then I drape a giant sweater over the whole thing because IT’S FALL, slide my feet into classic Vans and allow my old high-school self to Have Her Moment In The Sun.
I like this outfit so much (it’s easy, it’s perfect for those warmer-ish fall days, it feels like wearing pajamas)…that I wanted to offer up a few options, paper doll style. And since these Fjallraven backpacks come in so many freaking good color options…I used my three favorite color combos as a central point to rally around.
Bike Shorts Outfit Idea: Pretty Fall Tones
In addition to the outfit I’ve been wearing above…I’ve been eyeing up these seamless, ribbed Free People bike shorts. They’re longer than my gray Beyond Yoga biker shorts, but still shorter than most. Add some rose-colored Converse high-tops and done.
Bike Short Outfit Idea: Cool Prints
Free People is basically killing it in the biker shorts department…and I honestly can’t decide between all of their fun prints. Two of my favorites are below.
Bike Short Outfit Idea: Chic Neutrals
I realize that I may be playing with fire here, using “bike shorts” and “chic” in the same sentence but…it’s done. I stand by it. Let’s not overlook those neutrals.
Anyone else loving bike shorts as much as I am? How are you wearing yours? So far, I’ve just basically been this one-hit wonder….
ps: This one’s for the pinners….
