I mentioned in a recent article that I wouldn’t want to go through any cold season without sherpa by my side. It’s true. And so you can imagine how I’ve been itching to get my hands on one of these gorgeously cozy SAM. sherpa jackets.
Shana picked up the Camel White version last year, and ever since…I’ve, well, yeah, been coveting its awesomeness. I needed to see for myself if it’s as good as it looks, though — and, uh, yeah…it IS.

This Cozy Sherpa Jacket Is As Good As It Looks: Winter Outfit Complete
It’s extremely true that we all influence ourselves around here. We can’t help it. It’s the collar moment for me on this jacket, paired with the cozy fabric. That’s all I want in winter: a badass collar and cozy softness. I’ll forever be a fan of that kind of juxtaposition, friends.
Casual Winter Chic: The Jacket + The Jeans
These SAM. coats, if you haven’t tried them yet, are really fabulous and worth the investment. It was freezing (OK, windy and in the low 40s, which is freezing in Portland) the day I took these photos, and I only had a tee on underneath. I was nice and toasty in this sherpa jacket.
The sherpa itself is really amazing quality that doesn’t shed and feels so luxe. The trim is a super-soft faux leather, and the jacket has technical details like thick, quality zippered pockets and ribbed-knit cuffs with thumbholes. All SAM. jackets have these amazing details and high-quality fabric. Shana has worn the heck out of hers and speaks so highly. And check out the one below that’s wind- AND water-resistant faux fur?! Rad.

And these jeans? They’re super-comfy Good Classic Bootcut jeans from Good American. Tall friends, they have great length to them (I needed to cut mine to fit my 5’4″ bod here). Though I’m wearing an 8, they actually run TTS, and I could’ve stuck with a 6 because of the stretch. They’re such a great, wearable pair of black bootcut jeans if you need one in your closet.
Casual Winter Chic: The Bag + The Boots
And to finish out the outfit here? There’s no easier combo than a rad jacket and a pair of great Sorel boots.
These are the Brex leather Chelsea boots we all loved in a different color combo last year, coming in strong this season in a gorgeous winter white with tan soles. I love them. And they look cute both with full-length, bootcut jeans and with a straight-leg or even cozy socks stacked over leggings.
They’re sturdy, so well made, great winter boots, and the quality we know and love from Sorel. The white and tan keep them looking fresh and a bit mod, and it’s a nice update to the other black all-weather boots I have in my closet. TTS, but size up half a size to wear thicker socks with them.

And the bag is a new update on an old favorite, the Rebecca Minkoff Julian. This leather backpack touts gorgeous quilted details and beautiful chain straps that read as “jacket jewelry,” if you will. And, oh, I will. LOVE that element!
