Growing up in Bogotá, Colombia, a city high in the mountains with mostly cool weather year-long, I always associated warm weather with vacations and pretty clothes. Vacations weren’t fancy or far, but I remember that joy when we had to get new hot-weather clothes. It’s no wonder why when I moved to a country with seasons, summer has always brought that desire of feeling fresh and beautiful, and my Colombian brain wants all the dreamy dresses, little tops, and comfy pants.
Fresh Summer Vibes: 2 Classy White Outfits In Cotton & Linen
Another thing my brain gravitates towards when temperatures rise is white clothing and breathable fabrics. In my case, I prefer off-white or ivory as they suit my skin best.
The Most Gorgeous White Dress By Farm Rio
Farm Rio, a Brazilian brand, has become my go-to brand for unique pieces. Not only do they remind me of my country’s beauty and color, but also their attention to detail is phenomenal. When they’re not making the most amazing colorful prints, they create thoughtful pieces with the perfect fabrics and details by hand.
Right now, Saks is having their July Gift Card Event.
Details: Spend $250+, get $25. Spend $500+, get $50. Spend $1,000+, get $100. Spend $2,000+, get $450. Spend $3,000+, get $700. So it’s the perfect time to grab some new summer pieces.
This eyelet beaded dress will take your breath away, especially in person. The 100% cotton stunning eyelet is beaded most meticulously. You can feel the work and love put into it.
Plunging necklines scare me at times, but with Farm Rio, I’ve found a very closed plunging neckline that, while low, it’s comfortable and wearable. You can go as open or as closed as you want by playing with the hook and eyes; I have them all closed and even added an extra one, mainly because I’m petite, and things tend to go lower on me.
Thanks to the fully covered back, you can wear a bra for plunging necklines, or if you don’t mind going braless, a nipple cover does the job.
As per sizing, Farm Rio tends to run large, and I size down in most dresses. Length-wise, you may need some altering if you’re petite like me, 5’2″. It came down almost to my knee, and with a full skirt like this, I prefer a shorter length.
Head-to-Toe Linen & Cotton
1. Farm Rio Front Bow Linen-Blend Crop Tank Top
A little white top has been a staple in my summer closet for years. You can elevate any jeans, shorts, skirts and trousers with it and look effortless. I always look for unique details that can add a fun twist to an easy outfit, and this Farm Rio tank top has a front bow. I never imagined myself wearing a bow, but this bow is not any bow. It’s a chic, not-fluffy bow.
Made in a mix of linen and rayon, you’ll feel the softness and freshness all day long.
Even though I’ve sized up in most of my Farm Rio pieces, this time I decided to stay with my true size to have a little extra length and looser fit.
2. FRAME Le Tomboy Cuffed Trousers
You can always count on a pair of linen or cotton pants as essential in any summer wardrobe. If you dread wearing shorts or dresses all the time, they will keep you covered and fresh.
These FRAME Le Tomboy trousers are so comfortable. They’re generous at the waist and have a straight leg for maximum breathability and comfort. If you like a snugger fit like me, sizing down is best; I might need a belt next time. They come an inch under my belly button, but I often need a super high rise to cover it. The rise is between a mid and a high rise, though if you have a short rise, they’ll be more of a high-rise. Of course, 100% cotton.
