I am officially in the Holiday Mood.
Festive music, seasonal movies, vintage cookie tins (filled with homemade cookies, of course), the smell of cinnamon, twinkling shopping centers, hot cocoa, neighborhood light displays, family traditions new and old, and wrapping up gifts in pretty packaging… I want it.
But if I’m being honest, I’m not always ready to dress up. Actually, if you know me at all, I’m hardly ever ready for that, anytime of the year.
When I peeked at Athleta’s site and noticed the new seasonal products, my inner Buddy the Elf clapped and squealed. This is my kind of holiday clothing.
3 Comfy Holiday Outfit Ideas For The In-Between Moments: Thanks, Santa, For Athleta
Athleta’s pieces are wildly versatile, easily transitioned from office to workout, and it’s kicking off the holiday season with great sales!
As I perused the first holiday drop, I immediately began planning outfits for all the activities this bustling season brings.
Everything from traveling home, to walking off the seconds (and thirds) from your Thanksgiving meal, to braving the busy mall for last-minute stocking stuffers. These are the moments of the season that I do want to be cute, and yet…mostly comfortable.
Thank you, Santa, for Athleta.
Outfit Idea #1: Traveling Home For The Holidays
I currently have an epic amount of pants in my online Athleta shopping cart, and it all started when I found the Salutation Stash Flare Pant. I’ve been on the hunt for this very style of soft pants, but nearly every pair I’ve found is too short. Thanks to Athleta’s inclusive inseam options, I can actually rock these!

To stay cozy on a road trip or plane ride home for the holidays, I would pair the Salutation Stash Flare Pant with the Spirit Refined Wool Cashmere Wrap (the long cardigan of my dreams — this would make for an extra-special gift too), throw on a baseball cap so I don’t have to worry about the hair, and grab a cute backpack for all my snacks. I honestly just want to wear this whole outfit right now.
Outfit Idea #2: Post-Thanksgiving Meal Walk Around The Block
I can’t be the only one who needs a walk around the block after the glory that is Thanksgiving dinner, am I?! And it’s way better if I can shed my tight pants for something a little more…stretchy.
bra | jacket | tights | beanie | sneakers
Athleta’s holiday colors are gorgeous, and the Altitude Stash Tight in Polartec Power Stretch is not only warm for the brisk late-November temps, but the Spiced Cabernet color is perfectly on-point. The shade feels very complementary to the (almost puffer) Inlet Jacket in Tinsel Purple (and how can you resist THAT name?!). Grab a beanie, the Saysh One Sneaker (also in my cart), and you’ll be ready to head back in for dessert in no time.
Outfit Idea #3: Shopping For Stocking Stuffers
Braving the bustling shopping centers isn’t so bad when your outfit is cute and majorly comfortable. The Venice Flare Pant is seen a lot around Athleta’s website, and every outfit it’s styled with is incredible (and makes me want every item in each outfit — well done, Athleta).

An easy, no-fuss way to wear the Venice Flare Pants when having to run out the door is to colorblock them with your top. Athleta’s Renew Seamless Racerback Tank is available in a lot of colors, but you can grab the shade Mahogany in both the tank and pants. I also love the Tugga Coat for its longer take on the cozy sherpa jacket (finally, one that isn’t cropped!), and the zip pockets make it easy to stash receipts after each transaction when grabbing gifts!
We often focus on shopping for the fancier looks needed to attend holiday parties, but thanks to Athleta, we can be ready for all the major moments in between too. And let’s be real, those are the moments I’m MOST excited about. Hello, holiday season!
Xx,
Amy
Thank you so much to Athleta and ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post! I’m infinitely inspired by your holiday drop and so excited to try out these pieces for myself. Thank you so much for TALL SIZES! And to our readers, your support means the world — love you guys!
Let’s be friends on Instagram! Sharing life from my sleepy little beach town, daily style, makeup favorites, Gilmore Girl binge-athons and endless cups of coffee — all with a good dose of adorable toddler content too.
Oh, hey, fellow Pinterest lovers, this one’s for you…

The Athleta links from your site never work for me. That means you are missing out on $$ so I just wanted to let you know!
I have the same problem. The links all go to Athleta’s homepage.
Me, too. Anyting linking to the Gap corporation websites is not working lately. The Momedit links send me to the Gap mainpages which is just overwhelming so my shopping ends there.
Gahhhh thank you!! We’ve bubbled this up to the tech team – much appreciated!
Same with anything for Gap…just fyi.
