It’s hard to believe that the new year is in full swing. January is coming to a close, and with the end of the month, oftentimes people are starting to let their New Year’s resolutions begin to slip.
For years, I was that girl.
I would religiously commit to losing weight and eating great, only to find myself disappointed by the time March rolled around because my unrealistic goals had not been met. As I grew older, my mentality around my body expectations shifted, and I stopped setting goals to lose a certain amount of weight or to eat perfectly.
Now I set goals that are intentional and realistic. Goals that are centered around finding fulfillment, experiencing joy, and living a more balanced life. One of those for 2021 is to move my body more. To celebrate all that she can do, and to get back into a consistent routine that keeps me strong. I have been an avid group class junkie for years, and when the pandemic hit, it put a huge dent in my interest in daily movement. Gone were the days of going to the gym regularly, and while I was still hiking and taking Mia for walks, it just wasn’t the same.
All I Need To Keep Moving At Home (From Activewear To Alo Moves)
That all changed for me when I was browsing Nordstrom’s website and saw a huge discount on a yearly membership to Alo Moves. I had heard great reviews about their site, so I decided to try it out. Let me tell you all: it was the at-home-workout experience I had been missing. I now feel like I have the luxury of attending a boutique-style class from the comfort of my home, and there are hundreds of different types of workouts to choose from. Purchasing my membership through Nordstrom was a no brainer because I knew there would be no hassle if I decided it wasn’t for me and that I would be able to easily return it if Alo Moves didn’t work out for me.
Not only did I find an amazing exercise series, I also found some stellar workout pieces that I totally love! I like a variety of different workout brands including Nike, Beyond Yoga and Girlfriend Collective (to name a few). And I love that all of my favorite brands can be found at Nordstrom! Rather than paying for shipping on multiple sites, Nordstrom is my go-to for finding everything I love all in one place. The free shipping and returns, buy online pick-up in store (BOPUS), curbside pickup, and particularly the Nordy Club are all amazing and make for a 10 out of 10 shopping experience.
Okay, I have rambled enough… Let’s get onto a few amazing outfits for getting in your sweat sesh and what to wear post-sweat!
The Perfect Outfit To HIIT It At Home
I am a sucker for a good HIIT workout. This Nike training tank keeps the girls in place and is beyond cute too! I love that the workouts are quick and efficient and require big bursts of energy in very short intervals. And to top it all off, I have my own personal cheerleader, miss Mia who seems like she wants to join in on the sweat sesh too!
Not only do I love a good workout set, but the post-workout outfit is also a must for me! I typically gravitate towards athleisure and loungewear, and found an incredible pair of sweats that I think you will all love too. For those of you who have heard several of us wax poetic about the Nike Palazzo pants, but weren’t a fan of the ultra wide-leg…these Nike sweats are for you! They have all the same elements I personally love about the palazzos except they are a jogger style and the lined detail elevates the look. They are such a classic for me!
I am looking forward to the new year ahead. To the intentions I have set for myself. To feeling re-energized around movement again, and to what feels like will be one of my best years yet.
