As if I needed another reason to wear all things comfortable: these luscious velvet pull-on pants came into my life (and they just-so-happen to go perfectly with a chic sweatshirt and sneakers).

I planned to make a point to wear the fun, fancy and statement-making pieces from my closet more often this year. So far, so good…ish. Ha! You know, I still find myself throwing on the workout gear in the a.m., and then the day zooms by, leaving me breathless and without a moment to even consider getting into an outfit outfit. It happens, it’s life. I have had good intentions, though (and that’s what really matters, yeh??)!

But on the days I do get dressed, this new combo (sweatshirt + gorgeous pants) is IT. It’s basically like wearing loungewear:

These velvet pull-on pants are soft, comfy & just as good -- if not better -- than sweatpants. Look fancy pantsy...w/out feeling fancy pantsy. An invaluable outfit formula. Comfort, but make it FASHION.

Because my pants are on sale for just $9 (yup, $9 with code LOVE) they’re going QUICK. I rounded up some more options for you below…

Looking at these pictures now, I feel as if they are staring directly into my soul, firmly insisting with a loud (but not shouting) tone, “Get up…right…now. Camille! You are still in workout leggings. Get up. Take off leggings. Dress yourself. Do it…now.”

Geez! OKAY. Going now…as soon as I finish writing out this post and get another cup of coffee and consider finally doing my nails (but then won’t, b/c I don’t have time). What? I will! You don’t believe me, but I will.

Comfort, But Make It Fashion: Velvet Pull-on Pants + “Fancy” Sweatshirt + Sneakers

The Dressy Sweatshirt, as I like to call it, might be one of my favorite trends to come out of 2020. I can throw it on with my favorite high-waisted denim any day of the week…OR…pair it with these velvet pants (ps. they have an elastic waist around the back). They are soft, comfortable, and just as good — if not better — than sweatpants or any lounge pant. These two things make it possible to walk out looking fancy pantsy…without feeling fancy pantsy, which makes it an invaluable outfit formula for me. Comfort, but make it FASHION.

outfit details

pants: Velvet Pull-On Wide Leg Pant (fit a tad big, wearing small) – I went with the size small and they were definitely a bit loose, which didn’t bother me! But I do wish I had tried the XS, too (just to see if they would be more fitted at the waist). These pants are easy and comfortable. I really like the relaxed look of the leg, because it makes it possible for me to style them casually. If your size has since sold out at LOFT, try these by J.Crew.

sweatshirt: Topshop Sweatshirt – The “dressy” sweatshirt is probably my favorite of all the trends that cropped up in the past year. Ooooh AGOLDE has this beauty similar to my sold-out sweatshirt (just in white).

sneakers: Golden Goose Superstars – I wear a size 40 in GG…9.5 in all other shoes. Yes, these are pricey sneakers. I have worn them everywhere these past few years, though, and have found them to be very versatile. If you’d like to score a deal on a pair, consider eBay.

bag: Henri Bendel – I got lucky and snagged a couple of their bags (on sale) before they went out of business, but again, eBay would be fun to browse for some of their retired styles. (You could stalk Poshmark, too.) However, what I love about this particular handbag is that it’s metallic and fun! I came across Rebecca Minkoff’s new Edie Nylon bags and I am REALLY into them. They definitely fit the bill for shiny and statement-making. For example, this Puffy Nylon in Gunmetal Silver. Uh, I love it. The second is the Classic Chevron Quilted Bag in Metallic Silver.

I guess I should go change now…oh, look! A funny TikTok video!

“CAMILLE!”

Oh my gosh, Okay. OKAY!

Cheers,

Cams
