This time last year we were hunkered down inside, reaching for matching sweats instead of our usual spring wardrobes. Putting our typical clothing on pause was kind of nice — until it just wasn’t anymore. Which is why this spring it feels almost RIGHT to be a little bit extra (a little bit Alexis, anyone?)!
Cute Dresses & Fresh Sneakers For Stepping Out This Season
But don’t think I’m ready to completely ditch that comfort we’ve come to know and love — I don’t mean opera gloves and stilettos…I’m talking a pretty Vince slip dress, but paired with sneakers instead of statement heels. Delicate chain accessories, but ones that actually belong to your trusty mask. I’m talking about that Saks-worthy style (psst — but for less)!
Here I come, breaking out of winter hibernation in style…even if that just means strolls around the block.
Spring is not only the best time to refresh our wardrobes with pops of color, but this spring especially feels like the right time to try those outfits we’ve always admired (and pinned to our pinterest boards a thousand different ways). That outfit for me is the slip dress — but dressed down. I’ve always drooled over those dressy-yet-casual combinations that look both put together and effortless. Pairing a vibrant slip dress with a t-shirt, a light sweater and some comfy kicks is just the kind of spring wardrobe vibes I need in my life.
High Contrast: A Vibrant Vince Slip Dress & Dolce Vita Sneakers
When I found this Vince slip dress (for 55% off I might add) it was a little like love at first sight. It was almost impossible to choose a color, because while I love the “verbana” hue that I’m wearing in the photos, the other one is named “lychee,” which just happens to be one of my favorite fruits, and if wearing a dress in the springtime named after one of my favorite fruits is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
I paired the dress with a simple white tee from Vince. I know my eyes are fixed on dresses at the moment, but I need to give this classic tee it’s own shout-out because it is the softest, most perfect tee, and I have been wanting to reach for it every day. Staple wardrobe pieces done really, really well are absolute game changers (it comes in black and grey, too).
If you prefer a more fitted look, this long slip dress with strap ties is incredibly gorgeous and also available in the most vibrant colors (oh man, there’s a midi version, too). I’m also heavily tempted by florals — this daisy print dress? Ohmygosh. And this boho Free People dress is something to actually live in for all warm weather days ahead.

Refreshing Shades of White: Free People T-shirt Dress & Mask Chain Set
There are some spring days when I wake up and color isn’t what I crave, however. That’s when fresh tones of white seem to do the trick. White, in all its lovely lightness, can be a mark of rejuvenation, and I think that’s exactly what we could all use a little dose of this spring.
This On Repeat T-Shirt Midi Dress from Free People is free spirited, bohemian, and has just enough of a trace of that classic shirt dress to make it a staple. PLUS, it has pockets! The Terra Cropped Cardigan Sweater I’m wearing above is also Free People and even though it’s cropped, it’s still wildly warm and cozy for a breezy spring day (plus those exposed hems are perfection).
With masks still a part of life this season, I’m super into the delicate chains you can rock along with them! It helps keep them feeling fresh and a little more fashion. This mask chain set comes with two masks, plus the chain for under $10, heyyoooh! Here’s a set for the bold rainbow lovers, or just the chains alone if you want to pair them with masks you already own!
Sneakers are so fun & easy to pair with a dress, and I rounded up some gooood ones below that have just enough detail to make them elevated beyond your regular kicks. I’m eyeing up the Vintage Havana shoes — have you seen those?! They feel so iconic, and with Saks OFF 5TH prices you can find them under $100, making it so, so tempting to grab more than one pair (or is that just me?…). I’m daydreaming about all those sneakers below, but I also have to specifically shout-out this suede pair from Pajar Geda that would just be so gorgeous with a flowy dress (ugghh, so good).
