Greenlea recently told me that the Fourth of July is her favorite holiday. And when you have kids who are that excited about celebrating, it’s kind of a requirement you get into it — the entire family, that is.
Fortunately (for her? for me? definitely not for my husband, Zack 😂), I myself LOVE the whole family-matching/theme-dressing thing. And Old Navy has long been my ultimate go-to when I want a look for the entire family. I can get myself, my husband and the two kids all dressed in clothes that are cute and coordinating (and will actually last) for a whole lot less than anywhere else.
PS! Now through 7/4, take up to 60% off summer styles at Old Navy (no code required).
Let’s Get Festive: Old Navy Is My 1-Stop Shop For All Things Americana
So when Greenlea wanted us to get family outfits for the Fourth of July, Old Navy was a no-brainer. They have an entire section dedicated to Americana for the whole family that’s filled with adorable outfits for kids, toddlers, men, women…but the biggest surprise? Old Navy’s new line of BodLove dresses. These dresses are really good, you guys.
My July 4th Outfit: This Smokin’ Midi Dress From Old Navy
This BodLove halter rib-knit midi dress is my new favorite. BodLove, as Old Navy coins it, is a “body-positive collection of fitted, curve-hugging dresses, T-shirts and tank tops. Everybody…rock your body right!💃🏿” We’re all about body positivity here (and Backstreet Boys references, obviously), especially with dresses like these.
Fitted Sleeveless Halter Rib-Knit Midi Dress for Women (S)
I love the feel of the fabric: It’s made of 96% cotton and 4% spandex/elastane, so it’s slightly stretchy but still breathable for warmer summer weather. It’s substantial enough (not super thin) that it helps smooth everything out, and the double side slits make it easy to walk and move around in (and a bit sexier, let’s be honest).
But my favorite part of this dress is the built-in bra — yassss. I don’t particularly love wearing strapless bras, especially in hot weather, and this shelf bra gives me enough support and shape to go without one. (And the adjustable halter tie makes it easy to get the perfect fit.) This dress comes in regular, tall and petite sizes XS to 4X. I followed the sizing chart and am wearing a regular small here (I’m typically a size 6), so I’d say it’s pretty accurate.
Cute Family Outfits For The 4th (& All Summer Long) From Old Navy
Old Navy has done a great job of curating an entire section of coordinating clothes for everyone in the family (including four-legged friends), so whether you want to match, coordinate or complement one another, they’ve made it super-easy to get everything you need in one place.
On Zack: shorts | shirt | On Ozzie: denim shorts | shirt
Ozzie LOVED matching his dad. He thought it was so cool. (And I think Zack loves it more than he lets on too.) Both of their shirts are made from a super-soft, lightweight cotton — a great material for hot weather. Zack always appreciates that Old Navy includes tall sizes since a lot of shirts are too short on him.
Ozzie has also been wearing these cutoff jean shorts a ton, which says more about their comfort level than I ever could. He typically either doesn’t want to wear anything on the bottom at all or just sticks to PJs, so I’d say this is a great sign. I love the fact that they’re unisex (yay!), and the reviews are really, really good.
On Ozzie: denim shorts | shirt On Greenlea: romper | flip flops
Not to be outdone, Greenlea couldn’t resist this adorable sleeveless romper. It’s perfect for the Fourth and looks great with her brother’s outfit!
Don’t let their cuteness fool you — I’m pretty sure this is the first time they’ve ever shared willingly. 😂
Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
