With Thanksgiving 2021 almost here, we’re feeling…hopeful. We’re lookin’ to really experience some dang joy during the holidays, which means decorations and lights and food…especially the FOOD.

We’re still not totally sure what this day will look like for everyone, but at the very least…we wanted to dress up a bit, feel good and have a festive little holiday.

Which means — for me — putting on some lipstick and cozying up in a chic sweater dress, before gettin’ all serious about that pumpkin pie.

9 Cute Thanksgiving Outfits We’re Actually Wearing

So, if you, too, are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive and bright — with an outfit to match (but in a comfortable, Thanksgiving kind of way), then check out the nine looks the team is really wearing this Thanksgiving. Naturally, they’re all fit for a comfortable spot on the couch after a 5-course meal, but also chic enough to feel a bit fancy.

Shana’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

dress (s petite) | boots

The outfit: For Thanksgiving, Shana’s going with a comfy sweater-shirt dress (yup, that’s what it’s called) that’s giving all of the ’70s vibes. It’s more colorful than our girl typically wears, but she said that it just felt “festive,” which is all we basically want for 2021. Shana did warn that black underwear will show through the dress, but nude works just fine. The dress also comes with a little slip dress to be worn underneath, but she skipped it to show more leg. This dress is available in both petite and regular sizes.

The food:I could not care less about turkey. Just give me alllllll the sides (especially stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans) and let me smother them in gravy.”

Laura’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Coat (similar) | Vest (size up, M) | Shirt (TTS) | Jeans (sized up for slouch, 29) | Boots (TTS)

The outfit: Laura’s genius layering uses a vest to create an almost peplum silhouette…perfect for Thanksgiving Day indulgences. We also love the sharp topcoat and pointy-toe boots, which makes this whole outfit feel very dressed-up. Also, bonus points for the matching lipstick.

The food: Y’all probably know my favorite Thanksgiving food is ALL of it, but if I had to pick? My grandma’s Southern Cornbread Dressing (NOT STUFFING) — I could eat a whole pan. Sometimes I add chestnuts to it and leftover smoked turkey and OMG.”

Linzi’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Sweater Coat | Jeans | Capelet | Shoes | Then these ASAP: Pajamas

The outfit: We figured Linz would sneak in those ugly-cute Birkenstock mules that we’re ALL dying over. And we love how she’s using a sweater-coat to make her daily uniform a little more dressed up. This outfit hits all of the Thanksgiving themes: comfortable, chic and festive.

The food: “Cranberries! Our secret family recipe is secret obvi (sorry, Shana!), but this recipe is similar. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!”

Amy’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Sweater | Pants | Boots

The outfit: When rich textures and gorgeous fall colors come together in one outfit…we’re talking Thanksgiving gold. We love how these oxblood cords almost look like velvet, and the cropped, button-front sweater is perfect for a nursing mama.

The food: “It’s the green bean dishes for me.”

Scotti’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Dress | Jacket (also in black) | Boots or similar pair | Tights

The outfit: We 100% fully support swingy sweater dresses (especially on Thanksgiving), and love how Scotti made hers modern with sheer black tights and chunky, high-shaft Chelsea boots. Bookmark this combo for holiday parties, too.

The food: “Garlic smashed potatoes — YUM.”

Em’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Dress | Boots (similar — wide calves also available)

The outfit: We’re dying over Em’s lady-of-the-house outfit. Vintage vibes, with a casual sort of glamour we can’t get enough of. Even better, it’s under $100 (and happens to be on sale, too).

The food: “Any and all sides, smothered in gravy please — our chorizo stuffing in particular!”

Kat’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Top | Sweater Coat | Sweats (plus size) | Sweats (straight size) | Mules

The outfit: If anyone is currently wondering if they can make their sweatpants chic enough for Thanksgiving…yes. Yes, you can. By adding real shoes, a chic topper and (team fav) Reformation’s little Bardot top, Kat manages to make her sweatpants feel almost glam (and even a little sexy).

The food: “It’s the perfectly stacked bite with a little bit of everything on it for me…”

Meredith’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Cardigan (TTS, large) | Pants (size down, 29) | Mules (TTS, 8)

The outfit: There’s something about Meredith’s cropped, collegiate-style cardi paired with her pine-colored cords and burgundy mules that feels…nostalgic, but still fresh and updated. That’s our jam. We especially love how all the gorgeous fall tones came together effortlessly for one comfy-yet-chic holiday outfit.

The food: “Skip the main course, just give me some of my uncle’s famous Pecan Pie (GF of course).”

Cam’s Thanksgiving Outfit

If you too are ready for a Thanksgiving that feels festive & bright -- with an outfit to match (but in a comfy kind of way), then peep the 9 cute looks the team is wearing this Thanksgiving.

Sweater (TTS, wearing S) | Dress (TTS, wearing 4) | Boots (similar, same brand)

The outfit: Cam’s rockin’ her take on a foolproof trick we like to pull out of the hat once in awhile. Layer a sweater (half-zip in this case — we’re all loving this trend) over those spring/summer dresses and finish with a pair of booties. It’s not just an easy way to bring dresses well into fall/winter. It comes in handy during the holidays when all the cooking made the house 100 degrees and suddenly…you need layers off ASAP. Functional and cute.

The food: “My favorite Thanksgiving food? Sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows on top (yup, I said it).”

  1. I love this! You all look phenomenal – and better yet, it’s applicable in real life. And I know it’s not a competition, but 100% Kat for the win here!

  2. you all look fabulous!! but. are any of you hosting? because all those long sleeves…impossible! and emily especially with billowy long sleeves! and not to mention…sweaters??? you’ll be naked in your kitchen, hahaha! (laura i’m looking at you!) how about a post on gorgeous looks for us hosts with the mosts? you might want to include gorgeous earrings for when our hair frizzes and we have to rock a bun…and sleeves and sweaters and blazers NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. challenge…thrown down! happy holidays!

    • I’m hosting! And I purposely chose this dress because the sleeves are elasticized so they’ll stay right where I want them (huge pet peeve of mine not being able to push my sleeves up to wash hands or cook). AND the summer weight of the dress means I won’t overheat running back and forth between the oven and the stove, haha. I’ll just pop leggings underneath when we go for a walk later in the evening.

    • I have to say I rarely host and typically make my cornbread dressing the day before! SO I’m usually on setting the table, organizing chairs, helping move dishes to the serving area day-of, BUT my fav white button down I’m wearing the sleeves easily cuff up and the vest is a stretch cotton blend not a sweater weight, so not hot either! I was focused on being an eater not a chef this day haha.

  3. Em – I really like this dress, but multiple reviews say it’s completely see through. Is it necessary to wear a slip? It doesn’t look see-through in your pic

    • So…yes. But in my opinion not in a game-changing way. It is on the lighter side, and more of a summer weight, so if you’re going to be in direct light (especially sunlight), I’d pair it with a slip or shapewear maybe. For indoors, I feel confident getting away with nude undies and a bra (personally, I wouldn’t rock it without a bra). We routinely go for an afternoon or evening walk after our big ol’ meal on Thanksgiving, so I’ll be putting leggings underneath for that (for both warmth and probably modesty, just in case). Hope that helps!

    • Hi Melissa—I’m wearing an XS. I’m 5’2, 135-ish lbs. I’m usually an XS-S in most brands cardigans/jackets. Does that help??

  4. Yes, thank you! I ordered it! I’ve been on the lookout for something just like this for a while now! I’m always in either scrubs or sweats. It will be nice to dress up a little. 🙂
