“OMG, I love your shirt, jacket? Whatever that is. I love it!” said my sister-in-law, the day I wore this denim shirt jacket.
It was my first time wearing it, and I had decided to go for a casual look. I grabbed my pair of Spanx faux-leather leggings, the jacket as a shirt, and my Vince waterproof booties. Done, polished and effortless.
This denim button down is an unexpected piece for me. I’m a high-rise, tucked in or cropped top girl, and I like my proportions that way, but it gets boring. So this jacket with the longer length and the tie waist is giving me life. Fast forward, and I’ve worn it almost weekly since (and it’s 25% off right now!).

Made For Layering: Styling A Denim Shirt Jacket With Skinny Jeans
It’s not a regular denim jacket, shirt or even shacket. It’s one of those pieces that can be anything you want them to be, depending on the styling. I’m right now obsessed with wearing it as a jacket over a bodysuit.
But as the weather has cooled off more, layering it over turtlenecks or long-sleeved tees offers a different look. Solid color? Go for your favorite. Printed top? Even better.

I love it the most because it makes me want to wear my skinny jeans again, which I rarely do. But the minute I put this shirt on, I want to go for a skinny leg to balance out the proportions.
Denim Jacket Winter Styling: Layer It Up
Need some extra warmth? I’ve layered my topcoat, winter coat, and raincoat over it. It’s so nice to see the collar peek out and to see it when the coat is open. I plan on layering a Uniqlo HeatTech as the first layer when it gets colder.

It looks stunning open, doesn’t it? Would you like to see more outfits with this jacket? I’m pretty set on this formula but, I can explore other pants and boots for sure.

Did I mention the outfit was completely mom friendly?
Chao, chao.
