These MOTHER jeans are by far my most-worn and after selling out initially SUPER fast, they’re finally back in stock EVERYWHERE!
As many of you know, I’m a huge MOTHER denim fan. If I was offered one pair of MOTHERs or four pairs of another brand, I would choose MOTHER every time. For more info on fit and styling of this brand, check out my Ultimate Guide To MOTHER Denim. I tend to like the cut of MOTHER The Insiders in general, but these particular MOTHER The Insiders are the best I’ve tried. A 10.5″ rise, unique chew hem, fabulous vintage wash, 15” leg opening, 94% cotton makeup –it all works.
So…they are back in stock (yay!), but not on sale — sorry. Well worth the $$$ for me (because of the frequency with which I wear them), but pricey for sure. Plenty of the shoes and bags I’m wearing with the jeans in this post ARE on sale, though…so if you’re sale shopping right now, you’ll find really good deals on some of the other designer pieces below.
Sizing Notes: I’m wearing a 28 here (my typical MOTHER denim sizing). I could go up a size for a more relaxed fit in terms of appearance, but these feel good on and don’t feel tight because of the perfect amount of stretch (not too much, not too little for me).
The 2 Ways I’m Wearing My Fav High-Waist Crop Jeans Right Now
I love the way these high-waist crop chew hem jeans look and feel, but the reason I wear them so much is their versatility. Since they arrived at my house this past winter, I’ve been wearing them with EVERYTHING: boots, sneaks, sandals, heels, tees, sweaters, fancy tops, and all the cardigans and jackets. Super-versatile, super-cute, super-comfy, and my favorite style right now for sure. So once again, YAY for most-worn jeans being back in stock!
Note: Right now, I’m wearing them with sneaks and sandals, but I CAN.NOT.WAIT to wear them with stripes and these boots this fall. Sneak peek of my go-to base outfit I’ll be wearing under all the cardigans and soft jackets this fall here (full post with stripes and cardi combos coming soon!)
I am obsessed with this gorgeous olive green, but these sandals come in seven (yes…7!) different colors! I also like the bone-white leather, black and silver. As the reviews say, they do run somewhat narrow, but only a bit (less than the reviews report in my opinion). For my foot, they fit pretty TTS for me, and although I don’t have much wiggle room on the sides, they still feel plenty comfortable for my on-the-wider side foot. Added bonus: the strap on the top is velcro, and there’s a zip in the back, so super easy to get off and on.
Any white tee (including my FRAME low V or my everyday Velvet tee) will do with this combination of denim and olive green sandals, but this 100% cotton Veronica Beard puff-sleeved tee with lacey detailing is a fun one to wear (similar with more sizing and on SUPER sale!). I also really like this Veronica Beard tee without the lace. And this cashmere cardigan that we’re all in love with hits these jeans JUST at the right spot.
As I said before…I love the versatility of these jeans. Not many of my jeans pair well with dark-heeled boots, flat olive green sandals, AND white sneaks. These cuties are on sale for under $50 and are available in the slightly off-white I’m wearing, a true bright white, and a gorgeous rose.
Blue on blue with a pop of white is one of my favorite combinations, and this wash of denim works perfectly for that formula. This particular sweater has limited sizing left in blue (sizing available in black, though), but if you’re looking for more gorgeous blue options, I rounded up some more here. I especially like that I can do full-tuck, half tucks, and longer sweaters worn loose with these jeans. Again…with the versatility.
Speaking of versatility…a quick shout out to this super-versatile and absolutely beautiful AllSaints bag. I’ve been carrying my laptop in it to the office, wearing it with joggers to physical therapy, and then carrying it with less stuff and letting it do its fantastic slouchy thing in the evenings out to dinner.
Sneaks and sandals are great and all, but I am getting VERY excited for all the fall sweaters and jeans and boots…so expect some more posts soon on more ways I’m wearing these jeans and others. Thank you, as always, for your support of TME.
