When I saw that Everlane was discontinuing my all-time favorite jeans, the Curvy Authentic High-Rise Skinny Jean, I grieved. I began by querying whether the supply chain might have been simply preventing a restock of the style in all sizes. I imagined painting a protest sign to wave outside Everlane HQ, and then clicked around helplessly to see if I could stock up before the jeans disappeared.
Finally, I brewed a cup of tea to console myself, thinking I was simply cursed with an existence full of ill-fitting jeans. At a size 14 (or 32 inches in Everlane sizing), I’m smack dab at the intersection of straight and plus sizes.
I’m often wearing the largest pant size in a straight-size line or the smallest in a plus-size line, and sometimes, neither a straight-size nor a plus-size design fits quite right. With an ample booty, thick thighs, and a waist-to-hip ratio that often causes the dreaded “waist gap,” my closet has become a graveyard for all of the jeans I’ve purchased in search of the “perfect pair” — and then refused to wear because the styles pinched or poked me in the wrong places.
The Best Skinny Jeans For My Ample Booty + Thick Thighs

Fortunately, as I browsed the Everlane website, I found that the brand had introduced a new style that I’d hoped would serve as a replacement for my beloved Curvy Authentic High-Rise Skinny Jeans. So I added the new style, the Curvy Way-High Skinny Jeans, to my cart stat and checked out with cautious optimism. Five days later, when my Everlane package arrived, I unfolded the denim and wiggled my way into my new pants. The jeans fit like a glove.
If anything, I like this style even better than the old style. These have an even-higher rise, which I find flattering, and are a tad stretchier. I’ve paired the jeans below with a simple tank, so you can see where this style hits me and how fabulously formfitting it is.

To showcase my new favorite jeans, I’ve styled them for four occasions: running errands, meeting girlfriends for brunch, enjoying a summertime backyard BBQ, and going out for a date night.
Running Errands: Striped Tee, Cozy Hoodie + Comfy Sneakers
The soft-as-bunny-fur grey Vuori hoodie, a striped tee (similar style) and my ultra-comfy Hoka One One sneakers (similar style) make up my regular errand-running outfit. Every piece of this outfit is ultra-comfortable and takes me through long days of legitimate errands, like grocery shopping, and very illegitimate stops at Target, where you can find me ogling home decor and stocking up on bubbly water I absolutely don’t need.

For Brunch: Casual Button-Up, Sleek Bralette + Black Slides
For brunch, I layer this blouse from Uniqlo (similar style) over this SKIMS mesh bralette. I like to carry my trusty AllSaints crossbody bag and wear one of my favorite purchases from last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, my Softt slides (similar style). Wearing this outfit, I congratulate myself on a sensible shoe selection and a very risky color palette for dining. I knew I had bravery in me.

For A BBQ: Flowy Blouse, Stacked Bracelets + Brown Boots
For the season of the backyard BBQ, I’ve paired this flowy summer blouse from Old Navy (a similar style) with my Frye boots and a stack of mixed-metal bracelets from Mejuri. I like this outfit because it tries just hard enough but not too much. I don’t want to compete with the bratwursts for attention.

Date Night: Sequined Tank, Versatile Blazer + Red Heels
For a date with my husband, I’d take my new favorite Everlane jeans out for a spin along with this vintage sequined tank from Anthropologie (this similar style at Nordstrom is so cute), a black blazer, cherry-red Italian Leather Day Heels from Everlane, and a beautiful matte-pink liquid lipstick created by French makeup artist, Violette.
My dogs are unimpressed by the va-va-voom of sequins and a bold lip, but I’m feeling myself.

I hope you’ll enjoy these jeans all year long, for every occasion. I know I will. In the future, I’d love to see Everlane expand their size range to be even more inclusive so all babes can enjoy this most excellent specimen of denim, but for now, the style runs up to a size 35.
In loving memory of all the denim I will never wear now that I have these jeans,
Anne
