It’s hard not to find something I love at Anthro. I wish I could just go into the store and try on all the things, but since that’s not happening anytime soon, I just ordered a bunch of stuff that kept catching my eye.
Jewel Tones + Sequins: Anthro’s Velvet Sweatsuit & Elevated Loungewear Is Just In Time
Some of you may not be surprised to see velvet fabrics in rich jewel colors, sweatshirts with cool ruched-shoulder detail, elevated loungewear sets and OMG this sparkly duster. You know I couldn’t pass up that much sparkle…not that I have anywhere to wear it, but how freaking fabulous is it??
This Sparkly Duster Jacket
I love everything about this duster. It would look awesome with an LBD, but I also like it with jeans and a graphic tee. The slits in the sides make it more flattering–you know how some dusters can pull across the bum and look weird from behind? This one drapes so much better and has a lot of movement because of those side slits. They’ve added colors since I ordered this one and I’m having to stop myself from ordering another one…because the silver and the rose gold are both pretty amazing. It’s such an easy way to add a little fun to any outfit…and it’s super-comfortable so it works even with nowhere to go. I’m wearing a standard size small here (I’m 5’4″,) but it also comes in petite and plus sizes!

The Versatile Velour Top
The best thing about this ridiculously comfy top (aside from the GORGEOUS jewel-toned colors it comes in) is the fact that it can be worn so many different ways. I have it off the shoulder here, but you could easily wear it as a boat-neck. The bottom has stretchy elastic seam above the hemline that can be stretched down (like the first pic), tucked in (middle) or bloused out (like the last pic). This one works just as well for dressing up as it does for lounging around. (And have I mentioned those colors?? 😍)
Velvet Sweatshirt Styled Two Ways
Sweatshirt Dressed Down With Matching Velvet Joggers…
This sweatshirt is so fun because of the ruching on the shoulders and the velvet fabric it’s made from. Like the top above, it also comes in multiple colors (I can’t stop looking at that gold color) and can easily be dressed up or down. I love pairing it with the matching joggers (in “red wine,” even though the little color bubble looks blue). Here I’m wearing a standard small in the top and standard medium in the bottoms, but I probably should have gone with petite sizing for the joggers…you can see they’re too long for me. I love the high waist, though, and the fabric is ahh-mazing. (I might need to order this set in that gold color–I’m loving the 70s vibe.)
…And Velvet Sweatshirt Dressed Up With Jeans & Heels
I’ve been wanting to try some Pilcro jeans for a while now, and these leopard-trimmed skinnies caught my eye. The fabric is super-soft and lightweight–like a pair of jeans that have already been broken in with just a hint of stretch (2% elastane). I do agree with other reviewers that they run small — the 28s I’m wearing here (my usual size) were too small, but I think a 29 would be perfect. That fabric is SO good, it’s worth a try to size up!
And Floral Joggers For The Win!
I mean…if you don’t know, I’m kind of always on the hunt for joggers. This pair is definitely more like traditional sweatpants, and they come in a ton of different colors to choose from. I agree with reviewers that they run big–I ordered a small based on reviews (I’m normally a medium), and they fit well (if not a bit too long, which is pretty typical for my 5’4″ frame). I love the high rise and wide (waist-defining) waistband that doesn’t create any muffin-top. You could pair them with the matching floral sweatshirt (that also has the ruched shoulder detail), a simple tank or any color sweatshirt you want if that floral-on-floral thing is a bit too much for you. (I kind of love it.)
