If we had to pick a favorite retailer for solid, affordable basics…Everlane ranks high. We especially love the selection of products that are Earth-friendlier, too. And while we appreciate Everlane’s prices before sales…we’re finding their Goodbye 2020 Event (year-end sale) especially hard-to-resist: seriously versatile boots for under $100, my fav Everlane jeans for just $54, and more solid choices worth it even when not on sale.
Everlane’s End-Of-Year Sale: What We Have & Love In The Goodbye 2020 Event
Our Favorite Everlane Jeans on Sale
If you look at nothing else…consider Everlane’s jeans. While their skinny jeans get rave reviews, our top two pairs are basically mom jeans. These are some of our most-worn, for sure.
These are my favorite Everlane jeans right now. They’re rigid denim (so have that vintage-modern look) but are actually really comfortable to wear. The 100% cotton is soft and breaks in quickly. I like these as much as my Levi 501s. (And both sale washes are great.)
These have a similar fit to the ’90s cheeky jeans above, but they’re made with 2% stretch and a slight kick flare. Linzi says: “I have these in the washed black and classic blue. I hacked them off myself to get the length that I like and love the way they look with the leather day boots, the reknit boots, and the stretch wool boots (all on sale!!). The two-toned blue wash is perfect if you’re a bit bored with your regular denim.”
Our Favorite Everlane Shoes (& Boots) On Sale
Everlane does comfortable shoes really, really well. And their glove boots get our top nod for some of the most versatile boots EVER. But don’t overlook the sneakers, either. They’re some of the most sustainably made sneakers out there, and are super supportive (and comfy).
Linzi and I both love Everlane’s new Glove Boot in stretch wool (now 30% off!). Made using renewed plastic bottles (nine of them), the rib detailing and light oatmeal color is so good (also comes in a pretty charcoal). Walkable, sustainable, and the shaft is high enough to wear with cropped jeans.
Linzi’s blue boots are a whopping 50% off which brings them down to UNDER $60! Other colors on sale (30-40% off) as well, and they’re all made with Everlane’s recycled reknit material. (But I love the blue for the Anine Bing vibes.) Linzi also mentioned that even though they don’t have a cushy footbed, they are somehow super comfortable, and she loves that they have a high enough shaft (the same as the stretch wool) to wear with cropped denim. They also look cool peeking out under flares.
I once wrote an
ode (I mean article) to these flats called, “Walked a Mile In These Shoes” because, YES, they are that comfortable. There’s only a couple of colors on sale right now, but the one I happen to be eyeing up – the RED – is one of them.
These sneakers are another TME fav, but sizing is a bit tricky. I was happy in my usual size, but Linzi had to size up. They a little on the small side. HOWEVER. Once you get the right size, they’re super comfy and they have the perfect “almost-a-dad-sneak-but-not-too-overly-super-trendy” feel. Also, they’re insanely supportive (they seriously feel like orthotics). But cuuuute.
Our Favorite Everlane Coats On Sale
Everlane does winter coats really, REALLY well. They’re warm and – bonus! – our favorites are sustainably made. Don’t overlook Everlane’s winter coats for men, either. They’re just as good as the women’s.
Linzi and I both love this puffer: the name is seriously The Puffy Puff. Linz borrowed mine last year and liked it so much she got her own. (Also, I was not willing to part with mine – ha!). It feels like you’re wearing nothing super lightweight), but is still warm enough for milder Philly winter days. Linzi likes that it’s not as short as many of the other “short puffers” out there (so it covers part of my tush she says), but still has the look/vibe of a short puffer. Made with recycled materials.
This arrived on Dec 24th and I literally JUST took it out of the box. I LOVE IT. Cool military vibes, cinches in at the waist, and super warm. Made from 100% recycled material (and at least 80% of the down is recycled).
ALSO…I had ordered the men’s version for Mike and the moss green is SO good. Unexpected yet masculine, and more emerald green than fatigue – I love it on him.
Our Favorite Sweaters, Tops & Dresses On Sale at Everlane
We’re talking cashmere, silk, and linen: we love Everlane’s use of natural fibers. And getting these pieces on sale is an especially good deal.
Linzi says: “I have this sweater in two colors, and it’s a good one. I love having the pretty lantern styled sleeves on a simple sweater…just a tad bit of interest to give your basic black (or other color) sweater some oomph. My jeans, the cashmere scarf (in similar colors), and my black sneaks are also part of the sale!”
These silk tops are always a solid buy at Everlane, but the sale price makes them an absolute steal. There’s only a couple colors on sale, but the spearmint is gorgeous and the black-white stripe is seriously cool.
Who wants to get a head start on summer??? Linzi loved wearing this cute dress this past summer, and I’m totally digging the vintage vibes. Sizes are selling out fast in this navy, but more are available in the pin-stripe color.
There are two other pieces in the sale section that I have mixed feelings about: One, Everlane’s cashmere turtleneck is good, but tends to run small. Even after sizing up, I found mine too short in the sleeves, and shrunk a tiiiny bit more than I wanted it to after washing. But if you are looking for a fitted cashmere turtleneck, it works. Two, I wanted to LOVE Everlane’s ReNew Anorak…but was underwhelmed. It’s made from 100% recycled material, and is water resistant, but overall I found that it felt too…cotton-y. It doesn’t have good drape, and is just ‘meh’ on.
