Thank you to Saks OFF 5TH & ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post.

As much as I love summer, I get excited every time fall rolls around. I love the changing seasons, and the transition from summer to fall is pretty much the only one Marquette gets right. I mean, the transition from winter to spring (or spring to summer, really) comes much later than most, but fall? Fall is always right on time.

Boyfriend Jeans & Combat Boots All Glammed Up

And fall temps? Mean fall fashion, friends. (I love fall fashion.) While Shana has been sweating in 80-degree weather, I’ve already been reaching for sweaters and boots and everything pumpkin-spiced. Plus, I’ve found the outfit I know I’ll be wearing alllll season long: boyfriend jeans and combat boots…but glam.

I know loose jeans and combat boots are “a thing” right now, but in order to stay true to my own style, I had to glam it up a bit. These five pieces are all super-versatile, comfortable and perfect for fall. They can be mixed and matched with what’s already in my closet and all of them are on-trend without being so trendy that I’m entering fashion victim territory.

And while these pieces at full-price would typically be out of my price range, I got them all for a fraction of what they’d normally cost from Saks OFF 5TH. We’re talking high-quality favorites like Vince and Stuart Weitzman but for less. (Which is why Saks OFF 5TH is now one of my favorite sites to shop — so many luxe pieces up to 70% off!)

I know baggy jeans & combat boots are "a thing" right now, so in order to stay true to my own style, I had to glam it up a bit. These 5 pieces are versatile, comfortable + perfect for fall.

1. Start With Baggy Boyfriend Jeans

These jeans are SO good, you guys. I sized up to a 29 (I’m in between sizes after surgery) and they’re slouchy but not baggy and insanely comfortable. I like that they are really soft with enough stretch that they don’t feel restrictive. It’s usually hard for me to do the loose jeans look because I’m pear-shaped, but these are perfect.

2. Add Combat Boots For A Sleek Addition

Combat boots are everywhere right now, and while I love them on other people, on me they just look…funny. Like I’m trying too hard. I love this sleeker version that looks just a bit more dressed up. The heel is low enough to walk in all day, and there’s a zipper for easy on and off. I like them paired with jeans, but I’d also wear them with midi dresses/skirts/leggings…all the things. (Plus they keep my ankles warm when the temps drop!)

3. Show Some Shoulder With A V-Neck Sweater

I know baggy jeans & combat boots are "a thing" right now, so in order to stay true to my own style, I had to glam it up a bit. These 5 pieces are versatile, comfortable + perfect for fall.

This lightweight sweater is perfect for layering. It’s seamless and can be tied up (like I have it here) or left undone (like the model). The V-neck is everything…it adds just a little skin and can be worn off the shoulder for a bit of a sexier look.

4. Top It Off With A Faux Fur Jacket

I know baggy jeans & combat boots are "a thing" right now, so in order to stay true to my own style, I had to glam it up a bit. These 5 pieces are versatile, comfortable + perfect for fall.

I had to have this jacket the minute I saw it online. It also comes in black, but I’m loving this rich cognac color for fall. It will go with everything from jeans to dresses and will add dimension to an all-black outfit (and you know I have a lot of those). It’s gorg.

5. Finish It Off With A Belt Bag

While this is technically called a belt bag, I love wearing it slung across one shoulder instead of at my waist. It’s my new favorite way to go hands-free because I can wear it underneath a coat or jacket while backpacks tend to be harder to layer when it gets colder. I still have easy access to my phone and essentials but don’t have to worry about carrying an extra bag.

    • I think it’s pretty much tts! I’m wearing my typical size small…I think a medium would be slouchier and easier to wear off the shoulder and an xs would be more fitted…but I think it’s the kind of sweater that you can wear in multiple sizes (it’s so lightweight).

  1. Scotti, I know you just had brain surgery, but come on, full disclosure, did they do a sneaky cosmetic procedure at the same time because you look amazing?!? 🙂
