Thank you to Saks Fifth Avenue and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.

We are officially in cozy + rainy season here in Portland. I love, love it. But after years of living here (the last couple especially), I’ve managed to figure out some killer looks that still work in this cold and wet climate.

Enter my favorite joggers ever — in a chic, coated version! Not only do these beautiful pants perform well in wet weather, but they look almost fancy doing it. I paired them with two amazing pieces from Staud (a team favorite), and I’m stoked with the results. It’s a chic look…yet manages to feel comfy and cozy. A perfect fall outfit for a cold, wet day.

These PAIGE Mayslie joggers are longtime favorites. They’re such an easy pair of pants to wear for warmth, style and comfort (and they are seriously comfy, friends). I’ve had the olive (uncoated) for a few years now, added a coated black pair last fall (and wore them for three days straight), then recently picked up this beautiful, rich brown.

Fit notes: Fit is true to size (I’m wearing a 28), but size down if you’re between sizes, or aren’t straighter through the middle like I am. For length reference, I’m 5’4″.

I’ve worn these in the rain many times, and the water just runs away from these babies. SO wonderful for a climate like the Northwest. But they’re great pants for travel anywhere. Not only do they work in all kinds of weather, but they can also easily be dressed up or down.

This sweater from 525 is also a lovely find. It’s so soft, and the beautiful neck and cuffs make it special. It’s also a fab find at under $100. True to size, wearing a S.

And we can’t forget the gorg accessories from Staud. I didn’t have them on my radar until earlier this year, but now they are one of our team’s go-to brands for boots and bags. This pair of Staud Wally ankle boots is incredibly soft, has a walkable heel, and fits true to size. I also adore them with jeans.

This is the first time I’ve tried out one of Staud’s bags, as well. It is stunning. The shape is so good and the rad ‘S’ on the handle adds a lovely touch. SO fun.

More Stylish Fall Outfits Inspired by Portland

It doesn’t stop there, friends. I’m digging the rich, fall shades in faux leather right now (that skirt from Sea, below!). So I put together a few additional outfits ideas that I’d happily wear in Portland, all from Saks.

Right now (October 19 – 21), Saks is running a gift card promotion: If you spend $250, you’ll get a $35 gift card to use later. And the more you spend, the bigger the gift card you earn. Spend $500, get a $75 gift card. Spend $1000, get $200…spend $2,000, get $600…and if you spend $3,000, you can get a whopping $900 gift card back!

One of my top picks. It’s just so lovely. Extra-fine merino means it will be beautifully soft, but the cable stitching adds gorgeous texture and means it will hold up beautifully. A stunning piece.

02 | FRAME Fairisle Baby Alpaca Cardigan

Ooh that colorwork, pop of pattern, and in a mix of fall shades with graphic black + white. YES please.

03 | Theory Relaxed Cashmere Polo

Beautiful, a little sporty, and CASHMERE. Love the delicate buttons, too.

This also comes in a deep, lovely burgundy. I couldn’t decide which to include here, but this is the fall of greens, so olive it is! I’d pair with cognac knee boots underneath, and a cozy cable-knit sweater.

05 | Staud Domino Vegan Leather Pants

Gosh. I’ve been eyeing these up all fall. This color is so lovely paired with black, deep chocolate brown, olive green and ivory — all of the colors I want to wear. Plus, wide-leg pants are easy to style with a variety of shoes and boots. Gorg.

I am not one to own multiples of anything. I typically get bored with that approach to my closet. But these are the exception. There are the sporty joggers I love, kicked up several notches. The coated fabric makes them beautiful for wearing in our Portland rain, and the length is short enough on my 5’4″ frame to not pool at the ankles. The zippers at the ankles make them easy to wear with a range of shoes and boots, too. TTS, but size down if between sizes. Wearing a 28.

One of my favorite pairs of jeans right now are from FRAME — love the wash and distressing. I’d wear this pair with clogs.

Really soft leather. So beautiful. Love the cognac color, too. TTS but size up if between.

09 | Tory Burch Jessa Shearling Clogs

I’m obsessed with everything sherpa/cozy/shearling these days. It’s all I want to surround myself with when it gets cooler. These are adorable, right on-trend and so beautifully made. I’d pair with cozy socks in a heathered color and any of the bottoms above.

10 | Staud Bow Lug-sole Leather Sock Boots

These are so ‘me.’ I love a sock upper in a boot, too, for maximum comfort. Staud makes some of the best boots, and we’re all fans around here! These would look rad with my outfit above for a more daytime, casual take on it.

There’s not a better place to find beautiful investment pieces that will really make your closet sing. We love Saks! The rich fall shades this year are seriously lovely. All of these pieces are getting me SO excited for Portland’s cooler weather!

  1. Love the coated joggers! But how would you dress them down?
Also, do you like the Adidas X Marimekko jacket? What size did you get?

    • Thanks!! I dress them down with high tops and a sweatshirt usually. And yes I do like the jacket! I got a medium and it’s great. I had a S in another track jacket from them and it is just a little bit fitted, so I sized up.

  2. Do the coated joggers REALLY need to be dry cleaned? If not any washing tips for longevity? Thanks for addressing the unique fashion issues of the PNW!

    • I have just been spot cleaning. They stay so clean because of the coating I haven’t had to dry clean them yet. Granted, I’ve only had my longest pair for a month so far.
