If you are looking for a straightforward outfit idea, friends, this is it. My go-to look at the moment is a soft sweater with a classic vibe (ivory cable knit), perfectly distressed jeans straight-leg jeans (what I live for) and cute, comfy shoes that easily transition from summer to fall.
Oh, and one adorable doggo who just had to be in these pics. Haha. Let’s get into it.
Fall Outfit Inspo: The Straight-Leg Jeans + Sweater & Shoe Combo I’m Loving
These FRAME Le Original jeans are worth mentioning first. I snagged them during the Nsale and they’re still on sale for 40% off right now. Sweet! (At publish, this whole outfit is actually on sale!) They’re so soft and easy to wear with both mules (like I’m wearing below) and boots.
(If you prefer boots, my fav FRAME chelsea boots would be perfect with this look.)
I sized up in these jeans (29) because, uh, 2020/2021. But I’m glad I did. They fit a little looser now with wear and are the perfect boyfriend/weekend fit that I’m grabbing all the time now. These are one of the few pairs I’ve actually worn all day recently. I think you know what I mean. #usedtosweatpants
I promise to now stop making sweatpants jokes in all my articles. Haha. The love for them runs deep, what can I say? But you know I’m a jeans gal, so it does feel good getting back into wearing them regularly.
Now, for the softest cabled sweater I may have ever put on…this one is from American Eagle. It’s cute and lighter weight, making it a perfect sweater for right now, or for those of you in warmer climates. I sized up to a medium here for some slouchiness that didn’t happen, so I’d say they run a little small. I think I’d like to see how a large fits, but mostly because I’ve been into more oversized clothing lately. I read that Aquarius are typically into oversized clothing so, like, I’m glad that’s a trend I guess.

When I’m wearing anything light-washed (or lighter shades in general), these Steve Madden mules have been real go-tos. They’re just classic and pretty and comfy, but with that updated giant chain detail I am so digging right now. I’m going to spray them with this suede protectant so they stay so pretty and pristine.
