After wearing neutrals throughout my pregnancy, I began craving color.
Farm Rio embraces color, so I decided to try out their dresses and jumpsuits. The dresses and jumpsuits are forgiving, and their clothes easily hide my C-section pouch. Yet unlike other flowy clothing, Farm Rio’s are slightly fitted and don’t hide my curves.

A Farm Rio Try-On To Brighten Up My Postpartum Wardrobe
I like to buy from Farm Rio because the brand has its values in the right place. Also, their airy fabrics are perfect for the summer. The only downside is that having more than one of FARM Rio’s vibrant prints in my closet can feel like too much, so it’s important to choose carefully. That said, they do have some easy colors to wear, too, like this burgundy dress I especially love wearing on date night.
Here’s a closer look at six recent Farm Rio favorites – even the dresses I didn’t keep were too good not to share.
1. Farm Rio Blue Striped Bananas Jumpsuit

I asked for color and that’s exactly what I got! Wearing the Blue Striped Bananas Jumpsuit feels like showcasing a piece of art. It is a versatile piece I can style up for networking events, or wear for more casual weekend outings with my family, too. The material is airy and easy to maintain. I wore it for a walk by the beach on a pretty windy day and none of the elements bothered it!

2. Farm Rio Piping Cutout Balloon Sleeve Dress
dress (L)
This cutout balloon-sleeve dress helped me move out of my comfort zone. It showed me that even though my postpartum body is bigger and curvier than before, I can still wear a more form-fitting dress like this one. It highlights my curves in the best ways, while being surprisingly roomy. I like that you can increase and decrease the size of the cutout using ties.

I ended up getting the purple-burgundy color and wore it to date night with Sam a couple of weeks ago! I didn’t get the lime color because it felt less versatile for my life. I’m wearing a large.
Date night! We were planning to go to another bar after dinner, but we only made it to dessert! That’s when we started scrolling through photos of our baby and decided to head home.

3. Farm Rio Blue Pleated Embroidered Cotton Top

top (XL)
Farm Rio’s blue pleated embroidered cotton top is edgy and glam. The 100% cotton is rich and thick. Trying it on gave me the same feeling I get when I put on beautifully tailored clothes from India.
I am busty, so I wore a balconette bra underneath for support, and loved how it peeped out.
This top is currently part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! (Sadly, the matching wide-leg linen pants just sold out.) It works as a separate piece and styles well with jeans or wide-leg pants.
4. Farm Rio Richilieu Embroidered Sleeveless Linen Blend Crop Top and Eyelet Midi Skirt

This matching set by Farm Rio is pure magic. I wasn’t very excited about either of these pieces when I saw them online. But, when I tried on the set, I was SO pleasantly surprised.
The crop top is whimsical, it features birds and flowers. The Richilieu Embroidered Eyelet Midi Skirt is airy and flatters my curves. I didn’t end up getting this linen set because I didn’t love the beige on me. But if beige is your color, this should be an easy yes!
5. Farm Rio Sweet Jungle Frond Print Tiered Cotton Sundress

Where To Buy: Nordstrom l FARM Rio (L)
I’m always looking for dresses with a V-neck because they’re really flattering for busty and curvy women like me. This maxi dress had the perfect V-neck! I would never have chosen a bright blue and bright red combination like this online, but when I saw it at Nordstrom in the Farm Rio section I thought I would give it a try. I ended up liking the silhouette a lot. As flattering as the dress is, the color combination doesn’t resonate with me.
Love this print? You can get it in a tee, shorts, and a midi-dress too:
6. Farm Rio Off-White Fruit Orchard Mini Dress

Where To Buy: Nordstrom l FARM Rio (L)
A-line babydoll dresses are fun, flirty and highlight my legs. I liked the embellishments at the bottom of the dress and on the sleeves. The lemons and cherries on the dress are summery and artful. But, the sleeves are a little too short and a little too tight. Since the rest of the dress fit fine I didn’t want to upsize. This one was a skip for me!
P.S. If you’re looking for a babydoll dress, Madewell makes my favorite ones. My Madewell puff-sleeve mini dress is probably one of the pieces in my closet I’ve worn the most. Right now there are two puff-sleeve mini dresses on sale, the Maisie Mini Dress and the Denim Margie Mini Dress in Bevy Wash. The Margie Mini Dress is 50% off right now, and it’s made of 41% TENCEL lyocell!
When I put on my Farm Rio, I feel like my best self. Figuring out what suits you postpartum isn’t easy, I know, so I hope this helps!
Good luck,
