Hellloooo, warm weather! Or at least dreaaaams of warm weather (it’s coming, I promise).
Now that I live in a sunny beach town, I figured it was time to get serious about my shorts game. This year I have my eyes set on finding the perfect pair of non-distressed denim shorts (and I found them — thanks, AGOLDE), but that original search led me down a rabbit hole of finding seven pairs of beautiful, unique shorts that I just had to try (for research purposes).
I Don’t Need 7 Pairs Of Jean Shorts This Summer But… A Try-On
Not all of the jean shorts I’m featuring are non-distressed. In fact, I tried staying open to all different styles in my search, and even ordered a pair of classic “denim underwear” to try (NOT my normal go-to).
The verdict? I AM IN TROUBLE.
Denim brands really came out swinging this season, declaring this the Year of the Perfect Denim Shorts, because OMG, I love each one of these far more than I was expecting. So, HELP YA GIRL OUT. Watch the video, and let me know which pair you think is the winner (or two?!) of my denim-shorts hunt!
7 Pairs Of Denim Shorts Worth Wearing This Summer Ft. Free People, Levi’s & More
AGOLDE Parker Long Shorts – AGOLDE Parker shorts are tried-and-true favorites here at TME, but my personal favorite is the “long” version. It’s the ideal inseam for my longer legs, and this season, AGOLDE put out a handful of non-distressed washes that are simply epic (check out the amazing white wash). True to size.
AGOLDE Stella Shorts – I’ve tried a handful of AGOLDE shorts, but this is my first experience with the Stella shorts, and all I have to say is: WHY DIDN’T I TRY THESE SOONER? A perfectly snatched waist leads down to a baggy leg with a longer inseam than the Parker Long but not so long to be considered Bermuda shorts. TTS (but could size up if you didn’t want the waist to be as fitted).
Anthro x Farm Rio Embroidered Shorts – I LOVE unique shorts, and the embroidered detailing on these are stunning and so citrusy-fresh for summer. Following the size guide, I ordered a medium, but find these to run really big. Definitely size down!
H&M Mom Comfort Ultra-High Shorts – ’80s-style shorts are everywhere, and I’m not mad about it. I love the fitted waist into a loose, longer hip/thigh, and these H&M shorts are no exception. I loved them so much, I don’t even mind the distressing! TTS, or maybe even a little on the loose side, and the under-$30 price point can’t be beat.
Levi’s ’80s Mom Shorts – Another ’80s style that made me swoon, these 100% cotton shorts fit like a *glove.* They’re the perfect classic-style shorts, TTS and under $100.
Free People Beginner’s Luck Slouch Shorts – A true “denim-underwear” style. I was surprised to love these shorts as much as I do. The rolled hems add a stylish look, and the low-sitting waist is very on-trend. TTS with a perfect slouch (also at Nordstrom).
Free People Second Chances Pull-On Shorts – Short on time? Hate buttons? Prefer to just pull-on-your-bottoms-and-go? THESE. The elasticized-back waist makes these shorts super-easy to pull on and off, and with the longer, slouchy leg, I can’t help but think these will make for the perfect summer beach shorts! Style runs big — I sized down, and they still have a great slouchy element (also at Nordstrom).
Xx,
Amy
