Have you guys seen the sweaters at Bloomingdale’s lately? They’re SO so good. With such cool details like puffed sleeves, pearl embellishments, lace, and mesh detailing…they’re like the perfect sweaters for 2020.
I’ve long been a fan of fancy sweatshirts and sweaters. Give me all the cut-outs, the fancy sleeves and the sparkles, with all the comfort of a soft sweater. My latest favorite is cashmere…super-soft, super-comfortable and those pearls…I die. Here are three ways I’m wearing it.
1. With A Sweater Skirt & Knee-High Boots
I’ve become obsessed with this sweater skirt. A sweater skirt gives you all the comfort, softness, and stretch of your favorite sweatpants, but looks…well, just better. The one I’m wearing is mostly sold-out in black (still in stock in that pretty gray color), but this one is similar and has that same soft and stretchy-but-elevated vibe. I love the coziness of pairing it with a soft (cashmere!) sweater like this, and adding knee-high boots that show just a peek of skin when sitting (and those boots are 40% off now!).
2. With Jeans & Moto Booties
I kinda love the fancy pearls paired with the tougher moto detailing on the boots. And although I’d totally wear this exact same outfit with simple black pumps, these boots are SO much more practical (gah, I’m getting old!), especially for the snow in Marquette. They’re waterproof and surprisingly warm! And I can’t say enough about these HEATTECH jeans from Uniqlo. They’re comfy, they’re warm, they’re soft and stretchy…and have become my go-tos since I got them. (This sweater would also look amazing with flares–these are my favorites–with those puffy shoulders to balance them out.) 😍
3. With A Faux Leather Skirt & Over-the-Knee Boots
When I was looking at all the fancy sweaters at Bloomingdale’s, I saw this outfit and knew I had to try a faux leather mini. This one is short, but thicker (no cellulite showing through) and super-comfortable. A longer faux leather skirt would also work, and I love the belt on this high-waisted one. Adding over-the-knee boots keeps the bottom half warm, although I’ll add tights when the weather gets cooler — probably in a fun pattern like these. I got my Stuart Weitzman’s on crazy-sale a couple years ago, but these are a great option at a more budget-friendly price point (and almost 40% off!).

I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Barrel + Beam in Marquette who has some incredible beers to enjoy at their brewery or to-go for whatever plans you have for the holidays. Thank you for letting us shoot there! And Amy, thank you again for your amazing photography…and welcome to the team!
P.S. This one’s for the pinners!
