Literally, I wore this outfit the other day. I had just picked up one kid from school and decided to try to take the kids’ school pictures (not sure what I was thinking, honestly).
Anyways, we took a nice adventurous walk around a pretty garden in our little town as I attempted to make my three children stand still and smile real smiles (not fake, mom-is-making-me-smile smiles). It totally worked. The weather was perfect, too, which means…it was below 70 and I could wear a fall layer over my t-shirt. YESS. This is truly winning at Fall in the South.

I wanted to capture the look, because after posting The Big Shacket Roundup…it only makes sense to show you all how I’ve been wearing a shacket in real life. When I realized I forgot a piece I needed for my tripod, I had to improvise and use my six-year-old son as a tripod! Hey, it worked. I handed over my Canon, a tad trepidatiously, and he actually had a lot of fun snapping away. I had to give him a little guidance, but honestly…not much. He did such a brilliant job, I think!
Thanks to him, you’ll see that I styled the jacket really simply — over a graphic tee with a pair of Levi’s 501s and Converse. Easy. This is the type of thing I’d wear most days. That’s what I really like about the shirt jacket, too. It gives me an easy, no-fuss way to make an everyday outfit look and feel more styled. LOVE EEEET.
