A Post Filled With Expensive, Gorgeous Tops

I don’t always go for the expensive, gorgeous tops, but I’ve been searching for something a bit special this spring. Wearing one special top on repeat is definitely my pattern, so I’ve realized that this is a piece that could be splurge-worthy for my closet. And no: I don’t really have anywhere special to go, but I totally don’t care. It’s ABSOLUTELY time to break out an “I-Feel-Pretty” outfit.

I’m sticking with an “I-Feel-Pretty” outfit that’s me, though (no sexy little skirts or super high heels here), AND one that’s comfortable enough to walk a mile or two to meet a friend for a physically distanced outdoor beverage. Ooooh…maybe even comfortable enough for a springtime, date night stroll, a little dressed up, lots of mascara, and…without a puffer. Yes — I am so ready for all of this.

My ‘I Feel Pretty’ Outfit Formula: A Fabulous Top With Clogs & Flares

  1. Shoes That Provide Some Height (but are still walkable). Clogs are usually my first choice, but clog sandals, platforms or wedges work just as well.
  2. Full-Length Flares (my idea of glamour) Standard flares work, but these FRAME ultra high-rise flares or these from L’Agence are SO much fun.
  3. An Absolutely Fabulous Top (you make the call on this one) One with sentimental value, a unique vintage flair, your favorite color, a beautiful print, or one that is a special investment piece you splurged on because the style was just EVERYTHING. All that matters is the top has to have “something” that makes it feel absolutely fabulous to YOU.

Gorgeous Tops For My ‘I Feel Pretty’ Outfit Formula

You may have noticed from our weekly sales reports and my Saks Friends & Family post, that I have been VERY impressed (borderline obsessed) with the selection of splurge-worthy tops at Saks recently. Quite a few meet my criteria for absolutely fabulous tops that are hard to get out of my mind once I see them. I threw plenty of splurge-worthy top options at the bottom of this post (some on sale and many made from natural fibers), but I’m having quite a fun time playing with these three special tops below.

1. A Joyful Floral Top With Clogs & Flares

This top from Farm Rio (**Latinx-Owned-Business**) is a statement for sure! 100% cotton. The colors… the print… the swingy shape are all pretty spectacular in person. Farm Rio does playful and joyful and special QUITE well. If you’re not familiar with Farm Rio, they’re definitely worth checking out. A group from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that creates GORGEOUS pieces that “embody the feminine spirit and vibrant colors of Rio.” Yes to it all! And YES to drinking something FANCY in this top on a warm day this spring.

I’ve been coveting this style of clog sandal from Loeffler Randall for a while. This season’s neutral gingham fabric is perfect. They’re super cute (obviously), but since they have that neutral colorway, they’re easy to wear with all sorts of colors and styles. They’re also very fancy for me, but totally comfortable enough to walk a mile or so.

2. A Dramatic White Blouse with Clogs & Flares

I really appreciate that a good dramatic white blouse can be very versatile. I would definitely wear this top with hacked-off distressed jeans and sneakers, but it looks equally as good dressed up for date night or a special occasion. Made from natural fibers (ramie). With the sleeve, collar and back button detailing, it feels VERY special.

If you’re looking for a special pair of clogs, these Loeffler Randalls might be the ones. Neutral enough to wear every day, but the sweet little bow makes them special enough for my walkable “I-Feel-Pretty” formula.

3. A Romantic Print with Clogs & Flares

Such a beautiful top from SEA, and it looks equally good tucked into high-rise denim or worn loose (to show the bottom detail). Note that this 100% cotton top is on the delicate side and is sheer. I’m wearing a cami underneath.
