Oh, hey!
You still have our usual Weekly Sales Report to look forward to later tonight, but first…we wanted to dedicate a post entirely to Backcountry’s Big Brands Sale. Happening now through 11/17, get up to 30% off some of our favorite brands like Patagonia, Arc’teryx, Columbia, Salomon, etc.,
Patagonia, Prana, Smartwool & The North Face: Our Backcountry Sale Edit
In case you missed it, Kat’s post from earlier today has a whole roundup of Backcountry sale picks, too (and an insanely gorgeous photoshoot from Colorado’s Paint Mines. I guarantee you’ll add it to your bucket list.)
And when it comes to this kinda legit gear, you WANT to get this stuff on sale. Oh, and if something doesn’t happen to be included in the sale (like some new Danner boots perhaps), give our special code THEMOMEDIT a try for 15% off other full-priced pieces.
Now, for some highly-edited Backcountry picks from the crew! Happy shopping.

Smartwool Popcorn Socks (Linzi’s Pick)
Many of you know we are HUGE fans of Smartwool socks here at TME. Warm, cozy, and cute with booties. These are on CRAZY good sale 30-60% off depending on color.

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket (Scotti’s Pick)
Patagonia is known to make seriously high-quality, warm jackets. This one is made from lightweight and compressible 800-fill Traceable Down (the geese whose feathers insulate this jacket are never force-fed or live-plucked) meaning it’s super-warm without a ton of bulk. Perfect for layering under winter jackets for extra warmth or just wearing as a top layer on cool days. Plus it comes in a ton of colors, and the reviews are really, really good.

Prana Polar Escape 1/2 Zip Pullover (Laura’s Pick)
Ooh this looks super-soft and cozy and the neckline is so cool. It’s also offered in straight and plus-sizing. It’s almost $100 full price and is marked down to $69 now. LOVE. It comes in a couple other pretty shades and even a black floral print, too. Love this.
Prana Diva Varsity Jacket (Em’s Pick)
This cute jacket keeps catching me by surprise every time I see it on the Backcountry site, and now it’s 40% off (under $100!). The details are just so good — the quilting, the piping, the banded collar and waist. A slim but not too slim fit that is more flattering than some bombers. Such an easy piece to pull on over just about anything. I’d layer a hoodie under it, too. (This one keeps getting good reviews and has loads of extra details, like a crossover collar and cozy thumbholes. Under $20.)

Smartwool Colorblock Thermal (Gwen’s Pick)
Considering we have a looong winter ahead of us with not much to do inside socially, I’ll be taking lots of walks around the city (masked, of course). I’m most definitely NOT a winter girl and usually avoid going outside at all costs during these months, but that’s about to change. Smartwool socks are probably the most legit “winter gear” I own, so maybe I’ll try their base layers, too. This would look super-cute with black leggings.

Thermal **Plus-Sizes Available**
Smartwool Cozy Mittens (Julieta’s Pick)
All I can think about is how to keep my extremities warm and stay outdoors as much a possible. I tried Smartwool socks a few years ago and want to try these mittens now.

Patagonia Baby Reversible Beanie (Cam’s Pick)
No, I’m not pregnant. I just saw this and thought, oh my goodness. Is there a cuter winter hat for babies?! The fit over the ears, as well as the cozy fleece lining will ensure any little baby head will stay warm. It also comes in a few different colors/patterns (including one with a buffalo!). It’s just too darn cute! Maybe I am getting those baby feelings again…ehhh. I don’t know! Maybe I am just going crazy. (Probably more so the latter)

The North Face Campshire Pullover Fleece (Shana’s Pick)
This is that North Face hoodie I wore all last winter (and to the beach early this summer when it was still cold). SO soft and cozy. I prefer mine a bit big (size up one size). Comes in a full-zip version, too (also on sale).

P.S. This one’s for the Pinners…
