My go-to spring jacket in years past has been a classic, light-wash denim jacket. While I’m definitely never getting rid of my well-worn Levi’s option, this year I’m just looking for something…different.
Jean Jacket Update: 2 Fresh Takes On Classic Denim Style
Introducing…two adorable options that work for that casual jacket look, but aren’t your typical jean jackets or hoodies. Score. Both of these cuties feel fresh and more elevated, but are easy to wear, still comfy, and have some rad details. One technically is a denim jacket, but it’s got a whole new shape.
A Slightly ’80s Vibe | Free People Front Zip Jacket

How good is this slightly ’80s-inspired, super-wearable jacket from Free People? They really kill it with all the cool oversized jackets. This one is a great textured cotton fabric that’s structured but still lighter weight. The shoulder detail is what drew me in. So cool. It runs a little bit oversized, which I think it’s supposed to be. I’m wearing a small here and could go for the XS, but I like the vibe so I think I’m sticking with this size. SO, so cute and something different, which I’m always down for.

A Hoodie, But Make It Denim & Cropped | BDG Urban Outfitters Lea Hoodie Bomber Jacket
And then there’s this jacket. It’s a heavier denim so it has really great structure, but it’s cut like a cropped hoodie (such a fresh update.) It’s Urban Outfitters BDG brand, which I’ve always had great finds from in the past. It runs true-to-size for a truly cropped fit, but perhaps size up for a little bit more length. I’m digging it with these pants–I just pull them up or down a bit based on where I want the jacket to sit.

Free People Front Zip Jacket // (S) So cute. Soft and lightweight but structured. True to size for a slightly oversized (but not annoyingly so) fit.
BDG Lea Hooded Denim Bomber // (S) A seriously good update to the jean jacket. Love the retro vibe of this one. It’d look great thrown over high-waisted leggings and a workout tank, too. I’m always looking for a great jacket that isn’t a hoodie to throw on over athletic wear.
We The Free You Rock T-shirt // (S) This one’s a no-brainer. It has a capped sleeve/muscle tee cut I love. Will be wearing with everything higher rise this spring and summer. It’s great for warm weather.
Caslon Linen Track Pants // (MP) Run, don’t walk, to get these great pants. I went with the medium petite here, and it was perfectly slouchy (only a tiny bit) plus the length is also perfection on my 5’4″ frame. Also in olive, white and gray, too, and I’m totes thinking of grabbing the olive. They say size down, but I’m gonna say they fit true to size. When I go petite, I’m typically a medium. If you don’t want them loose at all, perhaps size down. The regular length is offered in XS–XXL and the petite length in XXS–XL.
Nike Blazer Mid ’77 High Tops // (TTS) I’ve wanted these forever, and when I saw this color I knew I needed to grab them. Totes rad and classic. This color is easy to wear and style. Love!
