There’s something special about the holidays. Of course, that sounds cliché, and we’ve all heard it before…every year, really. But this year — this year really does feel special. There’s something about being able to be out and about with loved ones among the hustle + bustle that feels…exciting again.

I’m ready to swap my fancy at-home party sweatpants for more inspired, swoon-worthy, elevated pieces that say, “I am celebrating the crap out of the holidays this year.” Pieces that bring me joy every time I wear them…like this amazingly gorgeous silk bodysuit from Cami NYC. Swoon.

An Outfit With Holiday Joy: Plunging Ivory Bodysuits & Skinny Flare Jeans

I love everything about the ivory bodysuit from Cami NYC: the puffed chiffon sleeves, the plunging neckline, the drape of the fabric...

I thought this ivory silk bodysuit was absolutely beautiful when I first saw it online. The puffed chiffon sleeves, the plunging neckline, the drape of the fabric…so I ordered it, despite the fact that it’s somewhat out of the typical price range I’d consider for a bodysuit. But when it came in? Stunning. It’s even better in person (New Year’s Eve top??). For one, I had no idea that what I thought was a scalloped trim along the neckline is actually made up of faux pearls. 😍 Talk about holiday vibes.

Although I usually have to size up to a M so the bottoms don't dig in (I've got a size 6 booty but size 4 shoulders), I'm wearing a S in the Cami NYC silk bodysuit, /7 it was perfect.

And speaking of getting what you pay for…you guys. THESE JEANS. I love these Veronica Beard flares so much, I recently shared another article about how amazing they are, but suffice it to say, these jeans are my idea of perfection. High-rise, skinny through the leg and flared at the bottom, these are the jeans of my dreams.

They’re perfect to pair with these pretty bodysuits for the holiday festivities — they keep the focus on the details but highlight shape in a beautiful way. (These flare jeans are stretchy, but they do run about one size too small. I’m typically a 28 and went up to a 29 in these. And just FYI, the ones I’m wearing have been hemmed. They were a 34-inch inseam, and I took them down to between 31 and 32 inches).

Not Into The Splurge? Try This Free People Bodysuit Instead

So the Cami NYC silk bodysuit is amazing, but if you don’t want to splurge on that one, the same look can be achieved for less with a little help from Free People. Its Turnt long-sleeve bodysuit has that same dramatic plunging neckline and incredible drape but is under $70.

The fabric is nice and stretchy, and I love the longer sleeves and shoulder details. The neckline does plunge a bit more, though, and I found myself having to pull it closed a few times. In these pictures, I’m wearing the Free People bodysuit with nipple covers, but for the upcoming holiday parties, I’ll probably layer it on top of a lacy bralette that can peek through. (And, of course, I love the bodysuit in the lighter color, but it also comes in black and gray.)

I have to say I was having a horrible hair day when these pics were taken, but never underestimate the power of a strategically placed hair accessory! They’re a fun way to add a little festive touch when you’re celebrating — I love these star-shaped Swarovski crystal bobby pins for the holidays!

And as impractical as these metallic, strappy heels from Schutz are for winters in Marquette, I love them. Like the Cami NYC bodysuit, it’s all in the details — those gold ties! 😍 I kept the whole pieces-that-bring-joy theme going and enjoyed every minute of it.

XOXO,

Scotti
