Finally Tried That Cinq a Sept Blazer (I’ve Been Eyeing Up For Years)

I have had my eye on this Cinq a Sept Khloe blazer for awhile now. I hesitated so long because of the price, but finally decided to give it a try — and omg, you guys, the fit is on point!

It’s no secret that I love a good deal, but there’s something to be said for clothing that’s just made really, really well. The strong shoulders are…perfection.

Lightweight, Long & Flattering: The Black Cinq A Sept Blazer Is Worth Waiting For

Not only does this blazer have a modern, strong shoulder (without being overwhelming), but the shape (slightly longer, hinting at oversized while still being flattering) really drew me in. I often find that blazers that fit in the shoulders are too tight in the body, especially across my hips…not so with this one. The ruched sleeves were also perfect…I didn’t have to worry about the sleeves being too long or having to fold them up.

As I mentioned, I really like the longer length of this blazer. It’s not crazy oversized — which I get is “a look” right now, but if I’m going to spend $400 on a blazer, I want it to be a timeless classic, not a trendier cut. (I’ll save those for under $100!)

The thing I like most about this blazer is its versatility. The fabric itself isn’t too thick and structured, and while it would work layered over a button-up for the office, it’s also perfect to layer over a cami or dress for date night. Blazers that are too rigid just scream “business!” to me and look silly when paired with something a little flirtier like a dress…so this lighter weight works really well.

I tried both the size 4 and 6 and while both worked, I like the slightly snugger fit of the 4 (I have pretty narrow shoulders). This blazer comes in a ton of colors with matching shorts available. (I think the raspberry red colors would look amazing together!)

Sidenote: These jeans. I’ve loved Good American denim for years, now, especially their Good Waist fit. It’s great for curves (fitting in the waist without gapping and enough room for a bigger booty and hips). I love the curved seam and shadow pockets on the butt…definitely makes the most of a booty!

Here I’m wearing them tucked into my combat boots, but I later decided to hack them off so they fit nicely over boots (see them cut here). They aren’t super-tight around the ankle so they feel a little more modern than the jegging-type of skinny jeans.
