The 7 “Non-Workout Ways” I’m Wearing Joggers & White Sneaks

Black joggers & white sneaks…hard to not love this comfy classic combo. These Zella Live In Joggers entered my closet exactly one year ago, and although I do wear them often for working out, they’re equally as fabulous for not working out (my preferred activity).

If you’re in a hurry, below are my two favorite “non-workout ways” I’m wearing joggers with white sneaks. If you’re not in a hurry, keep scrolling for more options… and then options for those options as well. You know I’m an options gal.

The best part of Zella joggers is that the material is nice-looking enough to wear in many "non-workout ways" — like with these cute white court-style sneakers.

I bought the joggers initially for exercise. I wore them for workout walks last summer (lightweight, breathable, and thin-“ish”). I wore them to dance classes during the winter (soft and comfy with great stretch). And I now wear them on the exercise bike (my old XS ones are fitted enough that they feel similar to leggings).

The best part of these joggers, though, is that the material is nice-looking enough that I wear them in many “non-workout ways” as well (oh…and also the other best part is the price…the price is good!) I wear them with sandals, flip flops, flats, dark fancy-ish sneaks…but my favorite non-workout way to wear them is with court-style white sneaks. Right now, my new slightly off-white Nikes.

If I have to make a quick transition to a meeting after exercising or physical therapy…joggers and white sneaks. If I want to have extra comfort and flexibility in keeping up with kids’ activities…joggers and white sneaks. And quite often, if I’m doing errands or a quick kid drop-off, desperately just want to wear my “soft pants” (as my little guy calls them), but want to look like I’m wearing “real clothes” and not athletic wear or pajamas…joggers and white sneaks.

Brilliant minds think alike, apparently, because Shana ALSO is wearing these exact joggers as “real pants”.

Sizing & color notes: In addition to black, the joggers are available this year in a great gray/black camo and navy, gray, and burgundy. They also come in plus, mens and kids! As for my sizing…I’m 5’2, 135 lbs, pear-shaped with short legs. Last year, I bought an XS and wore them like leggings/fitted joggers. This year I bought the S (what I’m wearing below), and am considering buying the M too (at this price, it’s hard not to buy multiple pairs). I do like them both fitted and slouchy (that’s why I bought multiple sizes)…two different, but equally good and versatile looks. For the sneaks, I’m wearing the sail/dew color TTS.

This is my favorite combination right now for my “non-workout way” to wear joggers and sneaks. This ivory striped sweater is gorgeous in person…my only regret is I wish I would have gotten the S vs the XS below for more drape. I also adore, though, the other winter white and cream-colored options I gathered below.

2. With All Black & A Few Pops Of Fun

Easy go-to outfit formula for me. Any black sweater/top and statement bag or sunnies will obviously work, but this EILEEN FISHER black sweater (**Sustainable Pick**) is especially cozy. This particular bag also looks great with a black thin strap switch-out for a more neutral look.

3. With A Fabulous Fringe Sweater

Many of you know I have a slight problem with fringe sweaters purchasing. I find them so much fun to wear. Someone hold me back from all the good options below. My hubs is not a fan of all the fringe in my closet, but luckily for me he is not the one deciding what I wear…EVER.

4. With A Cute Short Jacket

This comfy Eileen Fisher jacket (like wearing a super soft quilted blanket) is such a gem! BUT, check out the similar one on sale at Saks Off 5th for under $40 below! Not a bad alternative.

5. With A Black Tee & A Pretty Tan Cardi

A tan cardigan is a must-have closet piece for me –I wear them ALL the time –and luckily there are a TON of awesome options right now in a wide range of prices. Here are ALL the great cardigan options I found. The tan/beige cardigan also looks great with gray or ivory stripes and denim (a whole post on this coming soon).

6. With A Gorgeous Shade of Blue

My two gorgeous blue tops (this Vince and this Eileen Fisher) only have limited sizing left, but there are plenty of other beautiful blue options at many other retailers below. I am such a fan of pretty blues with black…in any looks.

7. With Cat Print & A Comfy Black Blazer

Owning one great cat print tee and one comfy black blazer-ish or trench jacket makes for a super versatile option to throw on with skirts, denim, work pants or joggers. I’m also liking this cat print tee as a more budget-friendly option to the one I’m wearing.
