The Most Flattering Little Black Dress (& How I’m Accessorizing It For Winter)
The V-neck bandage style is good, you guys. It’s almost like wearing shapewear (but obviously much cuter) and the contoured waistband works wonders on curves. The fabric holds you in without squeezing and kind of smooths everything over. Add over-the-knee boots and a fabulous bag, and you’ve got the perfect base outfit to dress up or down for the holidays (or any time of the year, for that matter).

Start By Adding Amazing OTK Boots
Speaking of over-the-knee boots, these Stuart Weitzman boots are amazing. They’re over 50% off (under $300!) and both the heel and shaft height are perfect. They give me a little height boost, but I can still walk comfortably in them (the heel is 2.25″) and they keep my legs warm without being bulky. The back panel is stretchy to keep them up without slouching, and I love the almond shaped toe that’s not too pointy or round. (They also come in a gorgeous camel color and dark grey as well.)
If you live in a bit of a warmer climate, you could probably get away with adding a blazer or leather jacket on top of the dress, but here in Marquette, warm winter coats and accessories are kiiiind of a must. I love all things faux fur, and adding winter accessories with a bit of faux fur helps to dress up the look a bit.
Faux Fur For The Win
The earmuffs and mittens I’m wearing are currently sold out (you can sign up for an email notification when they’re back in stock) but these earmuffs are super similar (under $15 — love the knotted band,) and I also love these faux fur fingerless gloves.
A Matching Scarf Set Ties It All Together
The scarf I’m wearing is actually part of a matching set that comes with gloves and a beanie that’s currently 65% off (also in grey or a light pink). The gloves have a little slit on top of the pointer finger for easy phone access, and I like the smaller size of the scarf. It keeps your neck warm without overwhelming the entire look. (Would make a great gift! Here’s a similar set with a matching beanie + gloves).
Top It Off With A Puffer That’s Actually Cute
It’s hard to find a puffer that’s cute, but this one is. It’s lightweight and warm but the best part is that it drapes so nicely. The collar/hood is my favorite part. The oversized hood can completely protect my face when the wind is blowing and snow is falling, but it looks like a cool collar when I have it down.
Add A Bag Worth Talking About
And I have to talk about this bag, you guys. I’ve been lusting over it for more than a year now, and I finally decided to treat myself. It literally brings me joy every time I wear it. The chain strap can be worn like a crossbody or slung over your arm or shoulder without having to adjust any buckles or clips. The interior is big enough for my wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, lip gloss and keys…without being overly huge. I love that everything is right there without having to dig around at all. It’s definitely a splurge, but such a good one.
