Leggings are pretty much all I want to wear right now. I’m craving comfort over everything, and leggings are pretty much the most comfortable option. I love my Zella leggings, but when I want to feel just a little more put-together, my Spanx Faux Leather leggings are my go-to (and have been for years). They hold everything in so nicely without feeling too constricting, and they’re breathable unlike some faux leather options.

How To Wear Spanx Leggings & UGG Over-the-Knee Boots
I happened upon these over-the-knee UGG boots and swooned. UGGs and leggings are a dangerous pairing, but the reviews were SO good – I ordered them immediately. I can tell already these babies will be my most-worn boots of the year. They’re incredibly warm and comfortable, and surprisingly easy to get on and off. They easily fit over jeans, but look just as good with bare legs as they do with leggings. (And I’ll do another post on these boots later.)
So yeah, the basis of most of my fall wardrobe (and winter, really) will be these UGG boots and leggings. I love the way they look together (the boots are the easiest over the knee boots to put on and take off ever) and they’ll keep me warm when we’re trying to visit friends and family outside in a socially distant way! Here are two ways I’m wearing them:
1. Add a Sweater Dress + Cute Moto Jacket
I can’t say enough about this sweater dress — it’s perfect. It’s soft, warm, the fit is just right, and the quality is on-point. (It works with leggings but is long enough that it would also look great on its own.) And this moto jacket?? I’ve been wanting it forever and finally ordered it. It’s gorgeous. I love the rose gold details that set it apart. These two pieces are such good buys at great price points.

Outfit Details
dress: VERO MODA Sweater Dress (s) — I was so happy that this fit so well. Super-warm and comfortable, this will be a go-to this fall and winter.
leggings: Spanx Leggings (m, also in petite sizes) — these looks would work with regular leggings (I love this pair myself), but I love the edge that these faux leather leggings add and they’re super comfortable. (They let your skin breathe unlike some other faux leather pairs!) Plus you can’t beat that shaping!
boots: UGG Over the Knee Boots (also in chestnut suede) — LOVE. If you live anywhere that gets cold, you need these–especially this year. (I also got the UGG Protector Shoe Spray to protect them from stains.)
jacket: Faux Leather Moto Jacket (s) — I’ve been staring at this jacket forever, and it’s even more fabulous in person. Those rose gold details are gorgeous, and this one looks so much more expensive than it is.
bag: AllSaints Snake Embossed Leather Crossbody Bag — There are multiple ways you can wear this bag (it has a chain strap and black strap to wear as a crossbody or you can just use it as a clutch) and it has slots for credit cards, a pocket for your phone and a zipper pouch for loose change. Love the snake print.
2. Add a Mini Dress & Graphic Tee
Throwing a t-shirt over a stretchy mini dress adds a little edginess while upping the comfort factor. This dress is made from lightweight stretch cotton so it’s the perfect layering piece–I could even wear it under the sweater dress above for extra warmth in the winter. And I can’t get enough of graphic tees right now. Nordstrom has a ton to choose from, from band tees to vote tees to Halloween-themed tees (I love that one).

Outfit Details
dress: BB Dakota Long Sleeve Minidress (m) — This looks really short on the model, but it’s much longer on me. The sides have adjustable cinch ties so you can play with the length a bit as well. This is like the perfect layering piece for leggings.
t-shirt: Graphic Band Tee (s) — I’ve been stalking this one and finally snagged it when my size was re-stocked! This one is similar, but Nordstrom has a TON of other options to choose from. (This “vote” tee has a similar fit as well–with an on-point message!)
leggings: Spanx Leggings (m, also in petite sizes) — These looks would work with regular leggings (I love this pair myself), but I love the edge that these faux leather leggings add and they’re super-comfortable. (They let your skin breathe unlike some other faux leather pairs!) Plus you can’t beat that shaping!
boots: UGG Over the Knee Boots (also in chestnut suede) — LOVE. If you live anywhere that gets cold, you need these–especially this year. (I also got the UGG Protector Shoe Spray to protect them from stains.)
bag: Clare V Mini Suede Crossbody Bag–I LOVE this bag. It goes with everything and the strap makes it easy and casual–this is a great alternative at a lower price point.
Nordstrom has always been my go-to place for shopping, but especially now during the pandemic. Their free shipping/free returns, clean website and huge inventory makes them an easy first choice. And signing up for the Nordy Club also gets you benefits like Nordstrom Notes (money to spend on Nordstrom purchases), alterations credits, curbside pickup (if you’re lucky enough to live near one) and early access to the Anniversary Sale, to name a few. So when they reached out asking us to pick some fall favorites, I couldn’t volunteer fast enough.

I dressed like this in the 80’s with no desire to go back. All those sections of clothing running down your body, what a way to cut off whatever height you have….Mom Edit is better than this.
I like the band tee over dress look. That’s one I haven’t tried yet. But those boots… ugg is right. They aren’t doing you any favors. Your body is super cute and they make you look bigger than you are and weigh everything down. Like an animal is eating you from the ground up! Haha If you need them for warmth, by all means go for it and be comfortable. But you are much cuter than they make you look.
I believe those boots are comfortable and warm. But I’m not a fan of how bulky they look. Over the knee boots typically look sleek and these seem the opposite.
This is kind of all to the no. The boots are super bulky and throw off all of the proportions. Over the knee boots need to be sleek.
