Summer is upon us! That means the wedding season is just now heating up, and chances are that you have an event or two to attend yourself.
A few months ago I rounded up the best dresses the internet had to offer for spring events, and I thought it would be fun to gather all the new, gorgeous dresses and jumpsuits now available for summer weddings. No matter the dress code, I have gathered something for every kind of venue in mind!
Silk, Floral & Bold Pops Of Color: The Best Wedding Guest Dresses & Jumpsuits For Summer
Silk and floral are the standout themes, and while bold pops of color seem to be hotter than ever, delicate tones evoking feelings of summer romance are still in abundance.
The brand that really stole the show this year is Farm Rio. Their dress collection is captivating, with their famous eye-catching patterns in colors that have me dreaming of sipping wine under the warm setting sun as jazz music plays somewhere in the distance.
While it’s easy to get caught up in Farm Rio, there are many other brands and retailers hitting home runs.
After a serious deep dive on the internet (we’re talking hours…and hours of research), taking into account events in all different settings (from beach, to vineyard, to ballroom and beyond), I gathered 30 of the most amazing wedding guest dresses and jumpsuits to wear this year. I broke them up into two different sections: those dresses with warm tones and bold colors, followed by cooler shades (think: green, blue (and I threw some black in too)).
Wedding Guest Dresses For Vineyards, Beaches Or Cocktail Hour On A Cruise
Let’s jump into these brighter dresses first. Perfect for outdoor weddings (don’t they just remind you of a sunset?), this section of maxi dresses, with a mini dress and jumpsuit or two thrown in, really have that vineyard/beach/cruise ship vibe. Summer glamour anyone?
This chiffon maxi from Anthro would be gorgeous for a vineyard or garden, and would even work if you’re pregnant or postpartum! Available in petite and plus sizes, as well as a few other color patterns.
This fitted Reformation midi dress is a stunner — the epitome of classic and chic. It would be perfect for everything from a rooftop wedding to a cruise, or even a ballroom. It’s available in more colors, including black if there’s a formal dress code.
Ahhhh….a subtle floral maxi…I love how this sundress evokes summertime. It would be darling for a backyard or farm wedding!
This satin mini batwing dress has a slight open back, but a lace bralette peeking out would be gorgeous. Just envision that cocktail in your hand at golden hour while wearing this beauty!
I love how elegant this flowy floral dress by BHLDN is…but those dramatic shoulder straps are the star of the show.
If you’re attending a destination and/or beach wedding, snap up this printed cutaway maxi dress before it sells out!
Silk slip dresses are all the rage, and I love how this bubblegum pink color softens the daring silhouette of this trend.
The floral pattern is perfectly unique on this halter maxi dress, but it’s the beaded neck collar that I can’t stop staring at!
Reformation is the unofficial wedding guest dress brand at this point. Their designs are perfect for formal affairs, and this elegant wrap dress would even work if you’re standing in the wedding!
Lulu’s has been a longtime wedding favorite, and this dress is no exception. The spaghetti straps, princess seam and front slit all elevate what might otherwise be just a pretty floral.
My personal favorite of the roundup, this wildly gorg Farm Rio halter maxi dress is available in more prints, some of which include specific plus and petite sizing.
The braided shoulder straps and fitted bodice make this otherwise beachy dress easy to doll up for fancier occasions!
Yes. Immediately yes. This marigold jumpsuit is the one to wear if you want to turn heads and garner compliments all day!
Show Me Your Mumu is another longtime wedding favorite by both guests and bridal party alike. This one-shoulder maxi with goddess vibes is simply made for a destination beach wedding!
Farm Rio and Anthropologie teamed up to make this lively maxi dress. The long length and sleeves create a modest, comfortable silhouette, but the dramatic front slip keeps you breezy even under the sun.
More Wedding Guest Dresses: Something Green, Something Blue, Gorgeous Styles Olde & New
This round of pretty dresses brings cooler vibes in both classic silhouettes and trendier styles. We know a lot of you are looking for black for those cocktail hour affairs, and while not obvious for summer, these blues and greens totally hold their own.
I love how this fitted midi dress has a dramatic slit to give it a little more oomph. Wear this one to nearly any event, from a cruise wedding to a vineyard, or even the ballroom.
The only problem with this show-stopping dress? You might actually turn more heads than the bride. This slightly sheer maxi by Love & Lemons is stunning and available in multiple colors!
I love the halter neckline that makes this swing dress slightly more unique than your average slip dress.
For something a bit more funky and fun, wear a patterned jumpsuit!
With swoon-worthy shoulder ties and a smocked back bodice, this maxi dress from Reformation is picture-perfect for any elegant wedding.
From the dramatic sleeves to the subtle side cut-outs and the short hemline, I’m obsessed with this Banana Republic mini dress.
Modest, flowy and gorgeous. This V-back, long sleeve dress is another great option if you’re pregnant or postpartum.
You can’t go wrong with this fitted side slit dress in the “it” color right now.
The ruffles add a charming detail to this classic asymmetrical hem dress. Reviews say it runs small, so consider sizing up!
A stunning plus-size option, this plunge long sleeve dress has a flirty open back and comes in under $50.
The Amazon slip dress that TikTok can’t get enough of…people of all shapes and sizes are raving about this one. Multiple colors are available to choose from!
You can do no wrong with a classic black jumpsuit — love the halter on this one — and it works for all sorts of wedding venues.
I am immediately drawn to the perfect little cut-out of this satin slip dress, giving a classic look a more flirty element!
So you prefer a jumpsuit but want it to be unique? The two different straps and single-sided cut-out makes THIS the winner.
There is something so romantic about the drop straps of this dress, not to mention the silhouette that oh-so-slightly flares below the knee. Everything about it is black-tie-event perfection!
That’s it for this jaunt into summer wedding guest dresses. Happy shopping! Let me know in the comments what styles you’re inspired by for fall events.
