These Sorel Kinetic sneakers caught my eye immediately when I was recently pulling together an article on The Best Pink Sneakers. The color combination on these is just phenomenal…it’s unique but wearable, so I had to give them a try.

These sneakers are a very chunky, sporty pair that could be tricky to style up, so I wanted to test out some looks to share in case you’ve fallen in love with them, too. Spoiler alert? They’re way more versatile than I thought!

The Sorel Kinetic Breakthru Sneakers + Where To Buy

These — “technical sneakers” I’ll call them — have a hiking-sneaker-meets-chunky-running-shoe thing going on and I like it. We see a lot of chunky sneakers these days but something about the color combo + the super comfy sole caught my eye.

The fit is pretty true to size on these babies, but size up if between. They’re definitely a street style and though they read “hiking vibe”, I don’t think they’d be enough ankle support for actual hiking hiking. Strolling on a trail though? Walking all day at Disney? Bopping around the neighborhood on your errands? Yes, yes, and yes.

I love that the colors in my pair are earthy with a little pop of orange. The cool color combo is definitely what drew me to these. They also come in a few other colorways. You can check them out at the various retailers below:

They are selling quickly at a bunch of retailers, so I wanted to include a variety here. The three retailers above seem to (currently) have the most sizes in stock though.

6 Ways I’m Styling My Sorel Kinetic Breakthru Sneakers

I’ve only had one other pair of chunky, colorful sneakers (remember these?) but this style can be a really fun statement-maker to have in rotation. And I say they’re tricky to style…but honestly, I should just say they’re fun to style!

I had a blast putting together different looks that might be juuust ever so slightly out of the norm for me. I needed this sesh as a way to get out of a major spring slump (the rainiest April in Portland in a while, friends.) So, thank goodness for fun sneaks giving me life. Let’s get into it.

1 | With Cargo Pants + A Bright Hoodie

I wore this all day the other day. I’m digging having a pair of comfy cargo pants right now. My pair are running low in stock, so these are a great alternative and they’re on sale! I love this washed bright pink hoodie paired with the earthy shoes that tend to work as a great neutral.

2 | With A Blazer & Graphic Tee

If you’ve been around here for past summers, you know I adore a white blazer moment. I still do and this one that is slightly ivory worked out super cute with the sneaks. I’ve slowly eased myself back into the oversized, untucked tee, full-length jeans look and I’m so digging it now.

Similarly, I’m all about this navy blazer right now, too, but it calls for tucking in the tee. I stuck with my typical size S in the blazer, but size up if you don’t want a bit of a shrunken look as it doesn’t have stretch.

3 | With A Black Tank Dress

I’m all about making dresses sportier any time I actually put one on, so this combo feels so very my version of a dress outfit.

I have been loving this boxy button-down from Everlane for popping over everything and it is great here as a light topper. My exact dress sold out last year, but the one linked is the same fit, just a scoop neck instead of a racerback style.

4 | With An Army Jacket + Full Length Jeans

You probably knew my Anine Bing army jacket would pop up in here. I just love the olive green of it paired with jeans and these sneakers. Unlike the blazers above, this does have a great amount of stretch and is so soft, but holds its shape throughout the day.

5 | With A Black Jumpsuit

This Old Navy jumpsuit has proven to be a freaking cute little number. It’s made out of a lightweight tech fabric and can easily be dressed up or down. If I were a skosh taller or longer in the torso it would be perfection. (I’m 5’4″ with a shorter torso) But it works and I love wearing it. It’s so light and would be perfect for travel, popping on over swim or workout wear and washes easily and dries quickly. TTS. Wearing a S.

6 | With Cutoffs + A Sweatshirt

I’m still trying out styling up these mid-length Levi’s 501 cutoffs but sneakers like this are always easy to throw on with shorts. And if it ain’t broke and all…I pulled in my new fav pink smiley hoodie again. It has a great washed/overdyed color that I adore.
