Have you guys heard of Quince? It’s a new clothing brand that is trying to create high-quality goods at affordable prices. Quince also make some claims of sustainability…but the claims are a bit vague, so I’m not willing to give them our sustainable nod just yet. (We’re investigating, though, and will have a full review out soon…ish.)
The one thing that truly blew me away, however, was Quince’s 100% silk pieces. I’m a big (huge) fan of natural fibers (cotton, wool, cashmere, silk) because they not only feel better on my skin, but they tend to last longer. Natural fibers are also better for the environment, one reason being that natural fibers will, in fact, decompose over time (not just sit in a landfill).

I like 100% silk in particular because it keeps me warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Seriously. My 100% silk tanks never feel hot or sticky, even when I’m hot and sticky on those humid, 90 degree days. And yet, in the winter, those are the same tops I tuck into jeans and layer under cashmere sweaters for extra warmth. It’s shocking how well it works. But best of all? I machine wash *most* of my silk pieces.
It turns out you can wash basically all 100% silk in the machine (lay flat to dry,) as long as you are OK with the silk piece losing its sheen. If a soft, matte finish is fine, then go ahead and wash your silk. Otherwise, if you want the silk piece to retain its shine, then you’re gonna have to dry clean it.
And thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
This Quince stuff, tho.
I’m actually…kinda blown away by how good this 100% silk set is. The skirt is under $60(!!) and the cami is under $40(!!) and I don’t even understand. I’ll be layering the cami under sweaters all winter, and pairing the skirt with graphic tees and sneakers now…or Docs and turtlenecks later.
I don’t know if I’ll have cause to wear this outfit as a set this year, but truth be told, it’s so freaking comfortable I might actually lounge in it.
Dahling.

GUYS. CRAP. I am wearing the wrong silk tank!! I ordered two — they look almost identical — and in these photos, I’m wearing and linked the one that’s 90% silk and 10% spandex. But I’m keeping the 100% silk tank (now sold out). Sorry for the confusion.

While you’re there….you might want to pick up one of their 100% silk pillowcases, too. I just saw those. And my full Quince review will include some of their cashmere — my current favorite is this one. Fit is TTS, and the camel is really pretty.
xo,
