It’s tricky knowing what to wear this time of year. It’s still hot out, but I get excited for fall clothes and honestly get tired of sundresses and shorts right about now. Well…enter: these amazing ponte trousers from rag & bone. Gah. They are so good.

I’m adoring the resurgence of trousers as everyday wear, not just for the office. So I was stoked when I tried on the rag & bone ponte pants. They’re a great stretchy ponte-knit fabric but in a quality unlike some cheaper brands I’ve tried. You know how some ponte fabric isn’t quite that gorgeous true black? These are, and they’re so chic.
1. Ponte Pants Styled For Date Night: With An Interesting Black Top + Pointed-Toe Boots

Rag & bone’s ponte pants are so chic, in fact, they’re perfectly suited to date night outfits…just add a fun black top, like this ribbed crossover tank from Topshop.
It’s not something I would always opt for, but once I knew I was pairing it with trousers, I went out on a limb…and I love it. The crossover neck creates such an interesting shape, and the trousers paired with the pointed-toe boots add a bit of that badass vibe I’m always looking for in my outfits.
The husband and I are going to a show at a nice theater this week and if it’s not too hot out I will definitely be rocking this look.
2. Ponte Pants Styled For Everyday Outfits: With A Boxy Tee + A Crossbody Bag
I can’t get enough boxy tees these days, and this soft, cropped T-shirt from Madewell is perfect with the rag & bone pants. That’s my trick to wearing higher-rise pants and jeans these days: balance out the look on my shorter torso with a nice boxy top.
The matching white AllSaints bag and Marc Fisher boots still elevate the look, but the tee gives that casual element. It’s all about balance, my friends…in life and in outfits, that’s my motto. LOL…it works!
Not into gray for the tee? It comes in a perfect white shade called “Lighthouse” that I will, in fact, be adding to my wardrobe.
I’m still toying with the idea of hemming the ponte pants just ever so slightly. I’m 5’4″ and typically do have to do that, but I’m also digging the bit of pooling at the ankle…it’s very on-trend right now.
Here’s to finally landing on some beautiful, full-length, black trousers for my closet after months of searching. The more rag & bone clothing I own, the more I fall in love. I also love that I can snag so many of them from Nordstrom, to easily exchange for the right fit.
